Oh maybe thats why its stupid - because I made it up?

seen a program about bridgesthem ones with no supporthalf is built at each sideand basicallythe push the 2 halfs together, they meet in the middle, and are fixed togetheri was well impressed with the video coz they have to be so precise so the 2 side of the bridge meet very closely together

I've never understood the phrase "Have your cake and eat it" properly.I know the general meaning, but Why Cake? why not chocolate? or anything else for that matter
Oh I didn't even get the general meaning for ages. I used to be like - why would I want cake if I can't eat it?

Cos when you look at a wedding cake or something, people always say sh*t like "it looks so good i don't want to eat it", but you can't HAVE it (ie not eat it) AND EAT it. Basically, you can't have things both ways.
