Hmmm.... Wenger - Flamini and Fabregas are the best

Arsène Wenger rates Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini as his finest midfield partnership in more than 11 years at the Arsenal helm. That is a bold statement from a man who nurtured the Patrick Vieira-Emmanuel Petit axis soon after arriving in North London in 1996. The French duo were a driving force behind Arsenal's Double triumph in 1998 and helped their country to World Cup glory the same year.Fabregas has been a fixture in Arsenal's midfield since Vieira left for Juventus in 2005 but this is Flamini's first season as a regular after waiting patiently for his chance. Nonetheless, Wenger believes that the current incumbents have the edge on their illustrious midfield predecessors."Yes, this is the best partnership," said the Arsenal manager."Going forward they [Fabregas and Flamini] are technically good and very mobile. Before we had players with impact and now the players' strength is in mobility."Maybe they are less physically strong in the challenge than Vieira and Petit but they have a good understanding and they cover each other well."Fans and pundits alike were urging Wenger to invest in an established midfielder after the departure of Vieira three years ago but the Frenchman stuck to his guns and stuck with his young Gunners. Fabregas, and now Flamini, have benefited from Wenger's policy and the Frenchman feels vindicated."We build a team over years being very restrictive about our spending and you are only rewarded if you can keep the team together," said Wenger.

Ultimately I think --Rosicky---Cesc--Flamini--Hleb-- could be the best quartet i've seen wearing the shirtDnt get me wrong they have a long way to go, but the talent is too sick. Rosicky is underated imo, its no coincidence the lack of rhythm in our play coincided with Tommy being inj..Hleb is already betta than freddie, just needs to be as influential is freddie was..Once this team gets that balance of pretty football and taking chances they will be too much. I mean Henry used to get 20+ and Freddie n Bobby would get at least 10 a season, thats the sort of standard they must try to achieve before comparisons are made but they are goin on the right track. But yh as it stands

Petit + Vieira > Fabregas + Flamini as it stands.
But memba Manu & Paddy won the league in the 1st season as a pair, if Flam n Cesc do the same then boooooooy

c/s one of my favorite players for us, he could become massive for us if only he could get a decent run of gameswhich bring me on to this
Tomas Rosicky’s absence from the Arsenal line up has come at the most busy time of the season when the run in for the title begins to gather pace and the Champions League fixtures reach the knock out stages. He has been rather injury prone as of late being out of first team action since the FA Cup game against Newcastle at the Emirates on the 26th January.“Of course, it is very annoying to miss these games," he said to Czech television station Nova."The injury simply does not want to fade away but now it seems like it has been improving a little bit.”I am now training with the ball."He has blamed his injuries to the very heavy schedule of games in England where there is no winter break to give the chance for the body to recover.“The Bundesliga has a winter break whereas here in England winter is the time when the games are played in quick succession""In Germany the players can have a rest and have a winter pre-season, which is a big advantage of course. That is not the case here which is a big difference," he said.Tomas played in Germany for Borussia Dortmund before catching Arsene Wenger’s eye earning a transfer to North London in May 2006.There is doubt however whether Rosicky’s injuries can be blamed just on the idiosyncratic busy English winter schedule.According to the Czech team’s doctor Pavel Kolar "Tomas has an imbalance of his muscle structure,"Kolar is renowned for his work in rehabilitation, in addition to his treatment of celebrities in the world of sports, politics and entertainment. He gained wide recognition for his treatment of former Czech President Vaclav Havel."In my opinion, this plays a big role in his injuries. Some of his muscles work more and are more developed whereas others are not."The problem is in the coordination of muscles which Tomas uses. Muscles on the rear side of his thigh are enormously strained, it is a matter from his childhood." Kolar told MF Dnes as far back as the middle of last October. And this assessment seems to hold some truth as Tomas has a string of recurring muscle injuries.Have a look at his long list of injuries since he joined the club:2008 February 1st: Hamstring Injury2007 November 7th: Groin Strain2007 September 20th: Hamstring Injury2007 July 30th: Hamstring Injury2007 April 30th: Hamstring Injury2007 March 1st: Groin Strain2006 November 10th: Hamstring Injury2006 August 18th: Groin Strain2006 May 31st: Thigh Muscle StrainHe was limited to just 22 appearances last season due to various muscular injuries.Kolar insists exercises will cure Rosicky's problems but it will take a long time:"It is a task for at least three to five months. But it depends how frequently he turns to the exercises”Tomas himself has said that he expects to return to action in time for the Champions league Quarter Final which will take place on April 1st (on fool’s day)!He will miss the home game against Middlesbrough next Sunday as well the away games at Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers.Let’s hope the Arsenal physios and himself address his muscle problems properly so that the probability for any more injuries is kept to a minimum.
he defiantly needs to sort this out long term cos he is useless just lying on the treatment table all the time and we are very short of cover in that area as it is

im agreeing with anelka again. but its too soon to rate them above anything, far too soonbut wenger needs to stop settling. its always about tryna make your team better but instead of seeing it like that he likes to hold what he hasrosicky needs to llow it. by time he comes back it will be too late

Overmars and Pires were better than Rosicky ever will be playing on the leftVieira and Petit are light years ahead of Fab and FlaminiHleb is better than Parlour but dont have the same impact as Freddie. I doubt he ever will
Your breaking it down player for player, which is cool (altho I dont think you can compare them player for player and come to a decision cos Fabregas or Vieira?), but the current four are more about playing as a UNIT and LINKING up. The passing and movement, etc... I'm assuming & hoping when you say impact, you only mean goals.
