Arsenal are reported to have made an offer for Caen forward Yoan Gouffran, despite the French Under 21 international already agreeing a move to Bordeaux. Gouffran was linked with the Gunners last summer, with French Eurosport claiming he had signed for the club, but he remained with the team he had helped gain promotion with.Les Girondins held talks with Yoan last week, and after thrashing out a contract all that remained was for a price to be agreed. However this has proved to be the stumbling point. One offer of around £4 million has already been rejected, althought Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud remains confident a can be done.Arsene Wenger it seems is on the look out for a new winger, and has already been in contact with Cardiff about Aaron Ramsey, but it seems he could be on his way to Manchester United. Panathinaikos youngster Sotiris Ninis has also been linked, but his massive price tag looks to have ended the potential transfer.Gouffran is very much in the style of former captain Thierry Henry, blessed with electric pace, as well as impressive creative elements, helped him bag 10 goals last term added to numerous assists. The French media claim an English club has offered a contract to the player, which includes better terms than that of Bordeaux.

Just abit more on that story.

Caen star Yohan Gouffran has reportedly received an offer from a Premier League club, believed to be Arsenal, and Bordeaux captain Ulrich Rame is reportedly studying the possibility of moving to Liverpool. With 10 goals scored in the French league last season, and an influential role with Stade Malherbe, Gouffran has made a name for himself as one of the most promising young attackers in the championship. The France Under-21 international has been offered a four-year deal by the ambitious Bordeaux, and agreed personal terms with Les Girondins, but his employers have refused a £4 million transfer fee.Reports in the French press state that an English club have made a better offer to Caen, and this side could be Arsenal, always keen on talented Ligue 1 kids and previously interested in Gouffran.“He wants to play for Girondins,” his agent Christophe Horlaville told Le Parisien.“It’s taking some time but the discussions are not stalling,” added Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud.Meanwhile, Bordeaux's emblematic goalkeeper Rame, yet to be proposed a new deal, is under contract until 2009 and has reportedly received a two-year offer from Liverpool including a massive pay rise. The 35-year-old has played his 11th season for Marine et Blancs and is yet to decide if his future lies near the Mersey or the Garonne.
Aaron Ramsey will spend the weekend looking over offers.

Aaron Ramsey will not decide on his future until after he has met Arsène Wenger in Switzerland on Saturday, despite Manchester United's hopes of completing the 17-year-old's signing this week. United announced on Tuesday that a fee, thought to be in the region of £5m, had been agreed with Cardiff City but they appear to have jumped the gun, with Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal all in the race.Everton tabled a bid for the midfielder yesterday and remain hopeful that Dave Jones's influence - Cardiff's manager started his playing days at Goodison - together with the chance of first-team football will tip things in their favour.Cardiff would prefer that Ramsey signed for United - an agreement is already in place that would see him return to Ninian Park on a season-long loan - and the boyhood United fan will look around their facilities tomorrow. With Liverpool expected to have a bid accepted within 24 hours, Anfield is also likely to be a stopping-off point before the teenager heads off to meet Wenger.http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jun/05/cardiffcity

ARSENAL are tracking Newcastle keeper Shay Given and are ready to end his 11-year love affair with the north-east.The Gunners are lining up a £3.5million for the 32-year-old Irish international, who is fit again after being missing since February with stomach and hernia injuries.Given, capped 86 times, fills the gap in experience left at the Emirates by the transfer of Jens Lehmann to Stuttgart and provide a stern challenge to Manuel Almunia to be No 1.Boss Arsene Wenger is not put off by Given’s age, pointing out that Lehmann was 33 when he signed on from Borussia Dortmund and he made almost 200 appearances for Arsenal.Given, joined Newcastle from Blackburn for £1.5m in 1997 as was one of Kenny Dalglish's first signings. He has since played 332 first team games and consistently been among the top five Premier League keepers.Kevin Keegan is not expected to stand in the way if Arsenal and the player can agree terms.

Brilliant keeper and deserves a move to a big team tbh. Has been linked to arsenal before. Only weakness he has is crosses really. 3.5 million though says that the story is bullshit - he's worth much more than that.

The teenager Aaron Ramsey is leaning towards joining Arsenal rather than Manchester United or Everton after talking to all three clubs. The talented Cardiff City midfielder has spoken to all three clubs after he flew to Switzerland at the weekend to meet Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. Ramsey had already spoken with the United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and officials at Everton. The Cardiff chairman, Peter Ridsdale, said: "I spoke to Aaron on Friday. He told me he'd had a great day at United and was on his way to see Arsène. After that, the final decision is up to the boy. Aaron spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson before visiting United. He's a sensible lad."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has responded to renewed speculation linking Hamburg defender Vincent Kompany with a move to Emirates. The Frenchman has been tracking the Belgium international's progress for some time but does not want to add any more recruits to his backline this summer.Wenger appears to be prioritising other areas after losing Mathieu Flamini and fielding bids for Alexander Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor.Although admitting he admires Kompany's qualities, the timing would appear wrong for any switch to North London."I have known Kompany for a long time, since he was 16," explained the Gunners chief to Sportwereld."I keep following him but the story that we want him for next season is wrong."I know him to be very, very good but I have decided that defenders are no longer necessarily needed for next season."Therefore, he will not come." :D

From Goal.comAdebayor Demands Milan Move

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Emmanuel Adebayor has told his agent to inform Arsenal that he will be joining AC Milan.Milan are well known to be in the market for a top class centre forward, and a few weeks ago Coach Carlo Ancelotti announced that the club would be signing one out of Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, Adebayor or Amauri. While Amauri has since joined Juventus, Milan have continued their pursuit of the other three targets, and over the past week or so there have been reports in the media that Adebayor has already agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri, and that all that is required to complete the move is for a transfer fee to be agreed with The Gunners.Arsenal are determined not to sell Adebayor, having already lost Mathieu Flamini to Milan, and with Aliaksandr Hleb set to follow him out of the exit door, possibly to Barcelona. However Adebayor has his heart set on a move to Milan, and has told his agent Stephane Courbis to demand to Arsenal that he be sold. Adebayor contract at the Emirates runs until 2010, but his demands for an increase to his £2m-per-year wages have been ignored. The 24-year-old impressed against Milan in the Champions League tie last season, scoring for Arsenal in the 2-0 win at San Siro.

Bare rumours today still lol

Arsene Wenger is hoping to ruin Sir Alex Ferguson’s transfer plans for the second time in as many weeks by snatching Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz…The Arsenal manager forced Ferguson to rethink his summer strategy when he secured the signing of Manchester United target Aaron Ramsey for ₤5million, having devilishly lured the Welsh teenager over to Switzerland to discuss the deal. And the Red Devils boss will have to be on his toes if he wishes to avoid a repeat, as the Daily Mail is reporting that Wenger has set his sights on Santa Cruz. The Paraguayan international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, as United are keen to sign a reliable target-man to finally fill the void left by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure in 2006.The 26-year-old scored 23 goals during his debut season with Rovers, and it is thought his value has at least tripled since his ₤3.5million move for Bayern Munich last summer.Hence, Wenger is lining up a ₤10million bid for Santa Cruz, as it seems increasingly likely that he will be without Emmanuel Adebayor next season, the Togo striker having reportedly agreed terms with AC Milan.
Barcelona Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, has revealed that Arsenal are demanding that Barca midfielder Yaya Toure be included in any offer they put together for the Gunners' playmaker for Alexander Hleb.
Having lost Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in a new top-class holding midfielder - and sees Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure, brother of Gunner Kolo Toure, as the ideal replacement for Flamini.According to some reports, Barcekona have already agreed terms with Hleb's agent regarding his side of the proposed transfer - but the Catalan giants appear reluctant to include Toure as part of the deal."Nothing has been decided as yet," said Begiristain."But we want Yaya to stay with us and he is not on the market."[barca's new manager Josep] Guardiola considers him to be an important player in his new project."Toure has previously said he would love to be playing in the same club side as his elder brother Kolo, and it seems Arsenal, irritated by the public courting of some of their players by Spanish and Italian clubs, are prepared to play hardball and only agree transfers that offer them something as well.
