So this letter gets sent around the department

Dear students,

Google is hosting an exclusive careers event for black students in collaboration

with the ACS Project – an initiative that connects black university students across

the UK with employers via the network of the

African Caribbean Societies.

Event: ACS in the City with Google

[bulk of info]

Thanks,

Obi (ACS Project Team)

And people start acting up, saying its not fair and its racist and sh*t. Spent a good while arguing with guys in my project group on the matter. Didn't expect people to be so narrow minded, or be so open to talk about it. Probably 'cause there's barely any black people in my uni.

I don't agree with the race division in their project, we're all in the same boat trying to get a decent career.

Universities don't take people on because of their colour so why should they support such schemes.

I understand the whole black "I am underprivalledge and got the world on my shoulders with no way out" motive and mentality in urban areas because in general it's true but black people in University are privlledged and have prospects "their" not a minority or disadvantaged.

It's all wrong imo.

im so pleased that I have 3 exams and 1 piece of coursework

tend to do better in exams the last result was a 70, highest I got on cw was 68 and I think the fact my lecturer blatantly told me he thinks naughty thoughts of me may have had some influence

Wat?

I'm not sure whether you're just levelling the whole forum with some of this stuff you come out with. That's f*ck*ng disgraceful if he said that. What was your response?

I told him its cool laughed it off and said I had a man. I have his phone number, we would talk on a level all the time and he would just slip those kinda comments in, I would politely go bk to talk about the module, he had the power of my grades in his hands so i couldnt be tactless

and he was freindly, we'd go for lunch together then other girls on the course were calling me his favourite so it started getting obvious. He was DTF (did i do it right?)
