Not as bad as i thought it would have been... but still some beats should have been subtracted for better ones. I think most of us (myself included) has just gotta face facts that Nas is not a good beat selector...and its become more evident over the years as he gains more control over his albums.

8/10Im really feeeling this album at the moment.Nothing for the dancehall, but doesnt matter. Means I wont OVER hear certain tunes.Added to the list of albums that stay on the iPod or in your car, indefinately. The messages & skits are big aswell.... Real real real talk!!!!Its an album to actually LISTEN to.....Not many albums around get that status. (Understand the difference between hearing & listening to get what I mean)

Album starts EXTREMELY average...From 'Queens Get The Money' to 'America', found it very blase, blase...Then 'Sly Fox' drops and it gets serious.N.I.G.G.E.R is by FAR the best song on there. Toomp needs to get more props, VERY sick producer.Fried Chicken, Testify & Y'all My Niggaz are my tunes ATM but this was more of a 'hearing' session than a 'listening' session.

I think it was very good in flashes. I like the direction he took, mainly 'cause I feel Nas was lacking inspiration since Stillmatic.I like Stic.man's verse a lot. Not too sure about the beats but Ive only heard it once
Listened to it properly now and I would like to say this albuis the best Nas album in since Stillmatic. Lyrics and flow are crazy, man had direction similar to HHID but his execution was far superior to its predecessor. Why? Beat selection suited Nas much more. He made the one song for the commercil market and put up a middle finger at them for the rest. Pretty much like his concert.LOL @ Mike Kane saying Nas needs to show progression. Like Jubez said it makes no sense. Man was way out infront of cats back then who are out infront of these pretenders now. Nas regressed whilst attempting to dumb himself down for the masses. You can tell his attempts were forced. I said the same about DMX and got slated but he suffered the same fate, trying to align himself with what everyone else was on. So I think you should rephrase that to Nas should just do him and not dumb down.Very lyrical album, the most refershing lyrically-driven album I've heard since Be.
