Some of these guys are younger than me and the sh*t they're doing is disgusting! I blame my mum for not bringing me up in America.I will not make the same mistake with my kids. The King
The Minnesota Vikings are interested in signing legendary quarterback Brett Favre, if he once again decides to come out of retirement from the NFL.Favre said he had retired after his one-year stint with the New York Jets ended with his injury-plagued late slump costing them a play-off place. The 39-year-old has since been released by the Jets and said he was retired but, once again, that is far from the end of the matter.Favre wanted to join the Vikings last year after his acrimonious split with the Green Bay Packers, but they would not allow him to join their fierce NFC North rivals. Now a free agent, and still with a grudge against Packers officials, Favre is free to join a gifted Vikings roster that many people believe are just a star quarterback away from having a Super Bowl team.InterestFavre has been keeping a low profile, but Minnesota have broken their silence and admitted they are interested in signing Favre, if he confirms he wants to play on."He's a Hall of Fame quarterback. He's a great competitor," Vikings president Mark Wilf said."Ultimately, you'll have to ask Brett what his plans are, but, sure, there's interest in Brett Favre."But again, it's part of a process we have in general with any of our players. We're always looking to make our team better."That type of decision is up to Brett Favre, and I'll leave it to Brett Favre to give you that answer (about retirement)."The Vikings clearly do not see either Tarvaris Jackson or the newly-signed Sage Rosenfels as better options than Favre, despite his age and injury problem, although Wilf defended their quarterbacks."With Sage and Tarvaris and John David (Booty), we're pleased with the quarterbacks we have," Wilf said."Let's not let that get forgotten here. And we just feel as a whole as a roster, we're trying to improve every day.Improvement"We feel we've made a lot of steps to improve off an NFC North division win, and we're ready to take the next step and to go all the way."The Vikings went 10-6 when winning the NFC North last year but lost at home to Philadelphia in the play-offs, when they looked a one-dimensional run-first team.Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway insisted the team were not thinking about Favre joining up and for now they would continue to build on last year with the current roster."He's retired a couple of times, so you wonder where his loyalties lie," Greenway said of Favre. "For us, we're moving forward with what we've got here."We have a team that can obviously win at a high level, and we have a team that, moving forward, we think can really compete for an NFC North title again and get to the championship game and hopefully further."As good as something may sound, we have a great team to play with right now and there is no sense in looking outside of what we have within our 53 (man roster)." A Bit Better
Yeah heard about the Favre thing. They just keep going on and on about it. The guy is too old. He has injuries, they will come back and be a factor or he will develop new ones. Signing him is stupid and he'd be a fool to keep playing. Doesn't he understand that he can fade into the background while his legacy remains?
