Titan what position you going for?I swear I need to apply for a job in a council in the ends man.I had that job at the other council if it weren't for the fact they hated my East London accent. (PLEASE NOTE I AM POLITE AND SPOKE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. YOU CAN'T HELP YOUR ACCENT NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY).

Got my interview in just over 2 hours and I don't really feel like going. My friend phoned me last night and told me that apparently there is someone else going for the job as well that already works in that department with tonnes of experience. Wish I didnt know that. Would have been a lot more optimistic. Oh well, who knows what will happen.

Just got back from the interview.Went alright I guess. One of the interviewers said to me everything was good but the downside was my lack of experience doing minutes in meetings as it's quite important there.Oh well, either I get it or I don't. Going to go and sign on next week.

Feel your pain bro. It's possible to fail an interview before going in for it just from carrying a negative thought on your mind. IF your not successful with this one, learn from this experience. When they mentioned about the minute taking skills, if it's something you would have been aware of before the interview, you could have bullshitted about doing work experience somewhere and having to minute take for meetings on certain occassions.

I knew about it and I could have bullshitted, however, I have never done it before and my short hand works well in lectures because I'm pretty sure I can get the sh*t from other students if I miss something. However, the woman really stressed how important it was and that there would be a lot of information I would need to take down quickly. Didn't want to bullshit, get thrown in the deep end and start drowning. Their may be a possibility I still get it as the woman as I was leaving and walking me to the door said they may hire 2 people. She needs to talk to two other managers, one of which is my friend's sister so hopefully. Pissed it's only for 3 months, but hey money is money right now.

Oh, yea it was probably best you didnt bullshit given the situation. The lady saying she mite take two people mite even be a sign they're willing to train you up with the minute taking skills. Also, did they say anything about whether they mite keep you on after the 3 months is up? Does this generally happen with fixed contracts at this time?

I have been told it is only a 3 month ting, but I always think being optimistic in these things is the best course of action. If you are a real hard worker, I reckon that even if your position is up, they may offer you a position somewhere else in the company. Most companies nowadays I'm guessing are recruiting internally so show them how on point you are and they may offer you another position.

Just found out I didn't get the position I was interviewed for. However,They said there is a general admin work position available they said I can have starting from September 7th, 3 days a week and £8 per hour. Only thing is I need to get a CRB check done but I have the job. I will wait till I work my first day before I celebrate but yeah I don't need to be interviewed for it. They are trying to see if HR will let me work without it whilst waiting for the CRB, but it depends on the discretion of Hackney Council.

Congrats!Even if they don't let you work till the CRB comes through, I think CRB checks are one of the most strate forward of all the security checks and should only take a few weeks tops? Also lol @ your interview saving them the time and energy from advertising the post...makes me think a fixed term contract may actually help bring something permanent even in this time. They say how long the post is for?

Safe bruh. The job I have been offered is now ongoing, so maybe it is a better position than the 3 month ting. Fair enough there would be a significant difference in pay at the end of the month, the 2 extra days in the week would allow me to get work experience as an Accountant so it's a blessing in disguise.Yeah, the agency that Hackney were recruiting through said a CRB can take up to 6 weeks time, but the woman that has been dealing with me stated that she would give me a call tomorrow in order to inform me about everything regarding the job and sh*t.
