Credit Crunched

Alas my VIP Family, I have been victim of the Credit Crunch. As of 06/02/09 my role has become obsolete.I work for Canada Life, investment company, on the IT side. I support IFA's using our bespoke systems to produce quotations and valuations etc. Any probs with those I look after. Due to IFA's hardly getting any sales/business, the systems are hardly being used. Which in turn means I don’t have anything to do, the issues that do come in are few and far between. So any future ones will be dealt with by the admin girls. It wasn’t a surprise really, could see it coming. Saving grace is that I got a decent redundancy package (SLK for Summer 09) and gives me proper time to look for a new role, maybe get some more IT certs.

Unlucky fam but if its no shock it can't burn too much.Get yourself registered with agencies even for temp stuff and you'll still make some cheddar till something more permanent comes along. What IT certs you got?Who's in charge of IT procurement @ Canada Life btw?
Got A+, will do some Microsoft ones, MCDST prob 1stIT helpdesk is based in Ireland, we have a few ppl over here in London though. So assume head of IT is in Ireland
