In the era of the new school where young kids and teens are listening to rap (because that's who's buying his music ultimately) they don't give a sh*t who writes what as long as the tune bangs.

The old era is done with and in this new era it's new rules man Marlo Stansfield out ere. Can't be that old guy talking to the yute den about "Back in my day...".

Drake won.

nonsense

drake is the artist of his generation

hes more inclusive to me  -  its casual hiphop for non black people talking about stuff a young rich handsome afghan can relate too - girls cars relationships.. its genius

its not about killing each other over colours of a rainbow or prison politics or some hood in atlanta i could give a f*ck about...

its a mid twenties racially diverse guy having fun ... he reflects the new communities out there

hence why although he's considered moist I call myself a 'fan'

I agree with this. It's not distinct from what I said.

He's not the artist of his generation though, unless you're specifically talking about urban pop music (not HH)

He does this as well.

Dont really think that guy cares about being the artist of his generation. He'll be the one they talk about for years to come. Everytime he drops, he keeps UK Rap alive for another 6 months. Countless covers. Yet this is the same guy who has my mum at 52 humming "hold on we're going home". He's achieved what most rappers dream of.

Nah not me, Good Kid in A Mad City probably....

But 96/110 metacritic score, critical acclaim across the board.

Its obvious Kendrick is D'Angelo to Drake who is more like Weekend.

Kendrick has 3 releases that are better than anything Drake has ever dropped.

Thats levels.

How can you be the artist of your generation

With no classic albums?

Tell me?
