This shit got pushed back to page three. New threads is on influx.

Anyway...

Kenny Dalglish has amazingly told Liverpool fans NOT to buy tickets for the Carling Cup clash with Chelsea.

The angry Kop boss is ready to play kids in the quarter-final on November 29 in protest at the scheduling.

It is just 48 hours after Liverpool's Prem crunch with Manchester City.

Dalglish said: "It is disgraceful in this day and age players are being asked to play a key Premier League game on Sunday and then a League Cup quarter-final in London just 48 hours later.

"If the Football League want to devalue their own competition, it's up to them.

"But they shouldn't be upset if people use these games to help in the development of young players.

"The one thing I will say to our fans is to think carefully before buying tickets for the League Cup game.

"We do not want them spending their money and then we decide there is no other option but to use only young players.

"It's understandable, with the Spurs v PAOK Salonika match and the TUC rally, that the Metropolitan Police have said our game cannot be played on the Wednesday.

"But it's surely the duty of the football authorities to think of other solutions which consider the welfare of the players — and this clearly hasn't happened.

"City are in a similar position to us with their game at Arsenal.

"Here you have two clubs who have treated this competition with the utmost respect over the years and they are being treated like this.

"I'd be interested to know what the sponsors think of the situation and what it does for the reputation of the competition.

"It seems irresponsible the quarter-finals are scheduled in the same week as Europa League games.

"Both ourselves and City were happy for the League game to be moved back to the Saturday. But we are told this is not possible either for TV reasons."

A Football League spokesman said: "Despite extensive efforts, no alternative solution acceptable to all parties could be found."

Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher expects to return to full training next week after missing two games with a calf injury.

Patrice Evra has been informed that he may have difficulty proving he was the victim of racial abuse from Luis Suárez, because of a counter-argument that certain variations of the N-word are not deemed offensive where the Liverpool player grew up, in Uruguay.

The Manchester United defender has accused Suárez of using racist language during a 1-1 draw at Anfield on 15 October and is waiting to discover whether, almost a month later, the Football Association will charge the Liverpool striker with misconduct. Top-level sources at Old Trafford say the offending word was uttered in Spanish and allegedly was a derivative of "negro", with Evra stating that it was used "at least 10 times".

However, Suárez has categorically denied racially abusing the Senegal‑born France player and the FA's investigators are having to consider the different context with which words that would be considered offensive in England are commonly used in Uruguay and other Spanish-speaking countries.

"Negrito", for example, could have shocking connotations for someone without full knowledge of the nuances of the language. But the counter-argument is that this is one of several derivations that are used in many countries, with no derogatory meaning – often in the same way someone could be called "pal" or "

mate". An illustration of this comes in the form of the message Dani Pacheco, the Liverpool player who is currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano, sent to his Spain Under-21 team-mate Thiago Alcântara via Twitter on Friday. It begins: "Negrito, enjoy yourself …"

This was a conversation between two friends. In Uruguay, it is quite common for commentators to use the same word to describe Premier League players. Visitors to the country can be taken aback by this form of language. But other derivatives are also commonly used, often to describe people of all races in affectionate terms, including family members.

Whether Evra was aware of these nuances at the time is not clear, but he and United have subsequently been informed that the case does not merely rest on what Suárez said but also, crucially, the context in which his words were used. The two players were arguing at the time and it is beyond argument that Suárez was trying to wind up his opponent, but the crux of the matter is the meaning of whatever was said and differentiating between something that would not be offensive in one country but shocking in another.

Suárez, backed by Liverpool, has repeatedly protested his innocence. The forward, who scored all four goals as Uruguay beat Chile 4-0 on Friday, has not publicly disclosed the words he used. He said last week that it was not an insult but just a "way of expressing myself. I called him something his team-mates at Manchester call him, and even they were surprised by his reaction."

The complexities of a difficult, highly sensitive case help to explain why the FA has taken so long to decide whether to take action against Suárez. The player's poor grasp of English has also contributed, as all his interviews have been in Spanish, requiring careful translation.

Any case against him would also have to prove that, having played in Europe since 2006, he should be aware of what is acceptable or not. However, this would be a difficult task. If Suárez accepts he used one of the N‑words, he would have the scope to argue it is a common and inoffensive term for someone of his background, citing a clash of language and culture between one player from South America and Europe.

Liverpool have let it be known they will ask the FA to take action against Evra if the governing body concludes that Suárez has no case to answer. However, the latest revelations throw up the possibility that both players have given a legitimate account of what happened, rather than it being a case of one man's word against another.

Kenny Dalglish, the Liverpool manager, has voiced his objections about the length of time the case is taking the FA, but it is still not clear when an announcement will be made. The case is so complex it may be that the FA needs to take advice from South America about the relevant linguistic issues before deciding whether or not to proceed any further.

Kenny Dalgiesh should get in the market January to bolster his team.

Steven Carr, Shay Given, Kevin Nolan, Robert Huth, Jason Roberts, Shola Ameobi and Jerome Thomas.

Would cost you probably around £25m but it would strengthen the team for an assault on all 4 fronts this year.

1st team (EPL, UEFA CUP)

------------Riena-------------------

-Carr-Huth-Carragher-Enrique

----------Nolan-Gerrard----------

--------------Adams----------------

----Downing------------Suarez----

--------------Carrol1-----------------

2nd team (FA CUP, LEAGUE CUP)

---------------Given-----------------

-GlenJ--Skrtle-----Coates---Agger-

-Kuty-Henderson--Spearing--Thomas--

--------Ameobi---Roberts----------

We need another striker and a right winger.

Defensively, if Agger can stay fit then we are sorted for quite a while me thinks.

Downing needs to step his game up, but Adam has been very good in the last two games. Would love Gerrard back to give us that drive from midfield.

c/s all of that. Good to see Agger back fit and able to play regularly, glad Kennys not just thrown Carragher back into the team as soon as he's regained fitness aswell.

Skrtel has been immense this season imo, definately been one of the best CB's in the league. Think he looks so much more comfortable alongside Agger and it helps alot that he gets to play on the right hand side of the defence when he's partnering Agger. We're playing to our strengths at the back, playing with a higher line and allowing Pepe to play a sweeping role in the space behind the defence. Came out a number of times today and made himself big to stop the City player either advancing towards goal or getting a shot on goal.

Enriques been a great signing but he lacks concentration at times. Sometimes he just seems to get caught ballwatching and his concentration with passes can be suspect, seems to casual with them at some crucial moments like the pass back towards Reina today.

Lucas and Adam partnership is gradually growing, both been class in the last couple of games as a partnership. Hopefully that continues.

Like to see Maxi and Bellamy back in the side for the cup game.

Carragher's reaction to not going straight back into the team has been brilliant though.

I still worry about Adam Lucas partnership, in the last two games I think the fact they have been 'big games' has given them added momentum, still think there is a lot of work to do.

Yeah it has, didn't expect any different from him though. Still think despite what people claim about him he just wants whats best for the team and he will be happy to see so much competition for places even in his own position.

Im confident they will continue to improve as a partnership, definately didn't think Adam was the best earlier in the season though. Seems to be more adventurous recently and he's got more confidence in himself to be the driving force from the centre of the pitch. Makes more successful forward runs now and i agree with the comment made on the anfield wrap about how confident he is in his own passing ability. I can see your point though, after both of these games i have wondered how its going to be in upcoming games against 'smaller' sides where it isnt such a tough battle for posession and he hasn't got to press so much off the ball. Hoping he doesn't become complacent and he manages to maintain the high tempo of the last two games, he looks better playing at that pace. Also interested to see how they perform when Gerrard is back in the side regularly

Let's be honest, Carragher knows that acting up under Dalglish will not wash so he was never going to say anything.

I want us to make a move for Hoillett in January or at least put the wheels in motion to get him at the end of the season, he is out of contract soon so he'll be dirt cheap.

Reina have the armband tonight over Carra, telling or?

I really think defensively we don't need to buy anyone for a while, unless Agger breaks down again. Young defenders we have look promising and the starting back 5 are looking solid.

Maxi again showing downing how to play football.

Hope Lucas' injury isn't too bad!

Nice that Suarez got to rest.

Thought Lucas bossed the midfield for second time in a few days.

Coates looked class at the back so composed at such a young age(still prone to a mistake was lucky not to concede a penalty)

Carroll held the ball up well but dont think he is made for a top side we play different when he's on. He badly needs a goal been unlucky recently.

Bellamy is class his freekick was top draw for Kelly goal he must start more games.

Hendo did abit better i believe there is a good player in there still very raw.

Love maxi he must start against Fulham he hardly ever loses the ball and gets into fantastic positions.

Liverpool have confirmed key Brazilian midfielder Lucas will not play against this season after sustaining knee ligament damage.

Lucas, 24, was carried off on a stretcher following a collision with Ryan Bertrand during Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the Carling Cup and he left the ground on crutches.

He underwent a scan at a Merseyside Hospital on Wednesday and has now been ruled out of action for more than six months.

A statement on the club's website said: 'A scan has confirmed an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in Lucas Leiva's left knee.

'The Brazil international will undergo surgery and unfortunately be ruled out for the remainder of the current campaign.'
