Superstition
I could never really connect with boiled bacon, if you are wet cooking pork then I suggest a larger gammon joint and slowcook in some sauce/stew/marinades/etc. Pulled BBQ pork tbh. The fat will form a greasy mess but could fry out into some crackling if left in the oven long enough, I usually just throw it away though Ive cooked chicken, lamb, beef, salmon. What should I try next Dont really wanna cook pork tbh I would recommend pork it's seriously delicious/versatile However if you want to explore poultry further there is of course turkey. Also I suggest duck, there are different types, Moulard are really excellent for duck breast, Muscovy is large & lean, great if roasting the whole bird If you're looking for more adventure there's a lot of animals out there... buffalo, venison or wild boar are good starting points

Guest WAVESURFER
Ham boiled in Coca-Cola (no joke) is mind-blowing. Honestly can't praise this highly enough, I was cynical, but it's ridiculously good. http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/ham-in-coca-cola-171
