Defender tulliste FC Lorient, Laurent Koscielny, is courted for several weeks by the English club Arsenal. The player wants to go to London, but his current club does not want to sell.Wednesday evening, Mayor Naves, Corrèze Alain Brette paid tribute to the athletes of his town. Among them, the professional footballer, Laurent Koscielny. On that occasion we met to take stock of its current situation. What can you tell us about your transfer to Arsenal?Arsenal interested in me. From my side, I want to join this club. But for the transfer to occur, it is necessary that the two clubs reach an agreement. Lorient is not a seller, so they will not let me go. Given the sums involved (the amount of any transfer would be between 10 and 15 million euros, ie), I think they eventually let me go. I hope they will find an agreement, but Lorient have the last word. On hearing must take his misfortune patiently. It's Arsene Wenger himself who contacted you?Yes. They have contacted my staff the week following the last day of the championship. I met with Arsene Wenger, as my agents. It went well. What was your reaction when you learned the value of Arsenal to you?Have fun. Arsenal is one of the biggest European clubs, who plays the Champions League. I think it's a good club to progress further. I do not want to miss the opportunity.Have you discussed your situation with Christian Gourcuff?Yes, he understands my situation. He is aware that I also want to go there.Last year you played at Tours, then you've joined Lorient. Today you may take the lead Arsenal. The meteoric rise is for you ...Yes it goes fast. A couple of years I was in the National. Anyway, in football anything can go very quickly in both directions. I had periods galleys. Today I saw more happy, so I benefit.

To be honest after reading 26 pages about this guy, I'll be happy if he joins, granted the issue will be how quickly he steps up to playing in the Prem. But they all rate him, never saw anyone even doubt his ability.

Koscielny's departure would be a real scandal! If the club wants to keep the ambition must be declared non-transferable, whatever the price offered ... Koscielny will still grow at Lorient and is currently the best French defender, pace Domenech. The next year with no doubt a first international selection will be its price well above 15M ... He signed 4 years and 2 years in Lorient at the club is really a minimum that we should require the club must continue to grow with him, it is essential

Italy goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is being courted by Arsenal and Bayern Munich according to TGR Sardegna news channel.Marchetti, who is deputising for the injured Gianluigi Buffon at the World Cup, has attracted interest from both clubs, who are expected to approach his club side Cagliari over his availability.Arsenal seem in pole position to stage negotiations with the Italians. The 27-year-old Marchetti was outstanding for the Rossoblu last term, so much so he convinced Italy coach Marcello Lippi to take him to South Africa as Buffon's understudy. However, the Gunners' interest could be challenged by Bayern Munich, who are also in the hunt for a top-class goalkeeper.Juventus have also been linked with the Italian, but it seems they have reached a deal with Milan to sign Marco Storari for €4.5 million, though neither club have confirmed it officially.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Italy goalkeeper Federico Marchetti after failing to land Mark Schwarzer from Fulham. The Gunners are also monitoring AZ Alkmaar's Argentina international Sergio Romero and Arsene Wenger is checking out targets first hand at the World Cup in South Africa.Arsenal failed in a £2million bid for Fulham veteran Schwarzer and reports in Italy say the Emirates Stadium boss could turn his attention to Cagliari keeper Marchetti. The 27-year-old replaced injured Gianluigi Buffon between the sticks at half time during Italy's 1-1 draw with Paraguay and will start against New Zealand on Sunday.Juventus are also keen on Marchetti because of more deep-seated concerns with Buffon's fitness but Cagliari have tried to put off all suitors by slapping a £12.5million price tag on his head.Arsenal have also shown interest in Dynamo Kiev's 35-year-old Ukraine goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovskyy, though he is not at the top of their short list.
