something you boys want to jump on with your work lot / boys

my boy done it at his work last year, I'm starting it this year, gonna have between 9-11 people involved just to make it manageable.

You can make amendments where you want (selection of teams etc)

All it costs you is £2, once a week (unless it’s international weekend).

You pick a team which you expect to win against their opponent – for example Chelsea vs Hull – you would expect Chelsea to win, so you would choose Chelsea.

You can choose teams from the following leagues:

  • Premiership
  • Championship
  • League 1
  • League 2
  • Scottish Premiership
  • Scottish First Division
  • Scottish Second Division
  • Scottish Third Division

Two people cannot choose the same team. If I choose a team first one week, the next week I will be choosing last, this makes it fair on everybody.

The order in who will choose a team first, second etc will be done by alphabetical order from your first name.

How your £2 will be used:

£1 will go towards an accumulator – for example, if we have 5 of us taking part, and we choose the following teams to win:

Man U

Chelsea

Man City

Celtic

Arsenal

Somebody will go to the betting shop, and put £5 on this accumulator. If all teams win, the winnings we get will be split between the 5 persons. So basically each week, everybody taking part has a chance of winning some money.

The other £1, goes into a pot until the end of the season.

This will work by using a league table. The league table will be just like your usual football league table, which consists of:

  • Games played
  • Won
  • Drawn
  • Lost
  • Goals For
  • Goals Against
  • Goal Difference
  • Points

The team you choose that specific week will determine how many points, goals scored etc you get. For example, if you choose Man Utd and they win 3-0.

You would get 3 points, goals for = 3, goals against = 0.

At the end of the season, 1st, 2nd & 3rd (this may change to just 1st & 2nd, dependant on how many people are involved), will take the money in the pot.

For example, if there are 5 participants, and 30 games which take place over the weekend, the pot will have £150 in at the end of the season.

Rules

  • Only weekend games apply – no mid-week games will count, however Monday night games from the Premier League will count. If it is international weekend, or cup weekend and there are the lower leagues playing, we can still take part if we all wish, but there will be obviously a lot less teams to choose from. But we can work this out nearer the time.
  • We will start this the first weekend of the Premier League season (Sat 17th August)
  • Only take part if you can afford £2 a week and will pay on time. I don’t want to have to chase £2 off you each week because you haven’t paid. If you are going on holiday, you would need to pick your teams (in the right order of that week) and pay in advance.
  • If you leave or quit whilst the season is still taking place, you will not be given your money back from the pot
