Adrian MutuFiorentina to Cesena

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has warned goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel that he has no future at the club. Leicester City have seen a bid for the 24-year-old Dane accepted by Leeds, much to the player's disappointment. And Bates has confirmed the club are already in the market for goalkeeping replacements. He said in the Yorkshire Evening Post: "We've decided that we're going to sign two new goalkeepers and Kasper will not be first choice."Now he has a decision to make. He either accepts that he's out of the limelight for a year or he goes to Leicester or another club that comes in for him. We will be moving on."
Bates has gone straight for the jugular

Midfielder Felipe Melo is unhappy at reports that Juventus have offered him as part of a bid to sign Liverpool's Raul Meireles. The Anfield club have already landed Jordan Henderson this summer and are expected to complete a deal for Blackpool captain Charlie Adam.Less than a year after his £10million arrival from Porto, Meireles could consequently be sacrificed in order to make room in Kenny Dalglish's squad.Liverpool are said to have told Juventus that they can have the Portugal playmaker for £13m, and the Italian club are understood to be prepared to offer Melo and cash. The defensively-minded Brazilian has been linked with Arsenal in the past, but he is disappointed at suggestions he could be a makeweight in any Meireles move."Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get," he is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror."I'm not just anyone. I'm not a bargaining chip to be used."

Arsenal are widely reported to have rejected an opening offer of the summer for captain Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona. The Spanish giants have failed in the past two years to re-sign the midfielder, who was a member of their youth Academy before moving to London in 2003.But, after endless speculation, Pep Guardiola's current European and Primera Liga champions are now understood to have returned with a starting bid of €30million (£27m).Arsenal are said to have immediately turned down the verbal offer, having refused to accept a €35m approach 12 months ago.Emirates Stadium boss Arsene Wenger is understandably refusing to let his skipper leave, but it is thought that the Gunners would listen to £40m approaches for the 24-year-old.Star manBarcelona president Sandro Rosell has previously explained the decreased valuation with the theory that Fabregas is not worth as much money because he is now one year older. The Camp Nou giants have also offered Fabregas' contract as a factor, despite there still being four years remaining on the deal. But Arsenal know that their star player, who is currently in Jakarta, would probably prefer to return to Spain and that he struggled with injury in the last campaign. It remains to be seen whether Barcelona are prepared to go beyond the €35 limit, however, Fabregas is Guardiola's top target. He is quoted as saying in the Daily Star: "The priority is Cesc because he is part of our new project."We can't afford to stand still. But there is only so much money available."
