From the little I know about MMG, I do know that French is just an affiliate. Diddy signed him and is clearly just letting him do the cross-pollination ting that Biggie and Jay did back in the day - both Rocafella and Bad Boy were separate entities, but the link up made them look strong(er?)...

It was/is a pretty big look for New York, made Diddy look good, had French look like New York's saviour. After years of Southern domination, I doubt French was gonna sell his soul to anyone other than a New Yorker.

I think MMG has the illusion of strength, but I dunno if these niggas are gonna outlast their master. The 'feature' game can only work so many times before hearing X on a track with Y and Z gets boring, hence why Ross is trying his best to sign up as much new talent as possible. I salute his business mind, but it's a bit obvious.

All these new man getting signed like dude from the Chi think they've hit the jackpot, but their run in the game is completely dependent on Ross. Translating regional/local buzz into a national or international buzz isn't easy, and the more people Ross signs the higher the chance that the new dude will end up looking like some side order guys.
