I always get the "where are you from?"

There was 1 lady worked in Krispy Kremes in Enfield, has a really beautiful golden brown colour, think her accent is Zimbabwean she will ALWAYS ask me "where are you from?"

Come like she forget it's me, asked me inside, my boy said she's bang on it, 1 time I was at the drive through she wasn't even serving me and I hear some echo'd

"Where are you from?" behind the woman taking my change lol

My Somalian boy at college goes to me

"Where are you from?"

I said "Caribbean"

He shouts "JAMAICA :/ ?" lol

I said "yeah, my dad is Jamaican"

He goes "NAHHHHHHH, YOU NOT JAMAICON"

I said "I swear to God my dad was born in Jamaica"

Anyway about 20 seconds of this back and forth he goes

"I thought you were South African ykno"

But Zimbabwe is close to SA so maybe I dunno.

Before I cut my hair shit got pretty stressful still, some of this is cringey.

"That's fake"

Me and my girl looking at each other like wtf

He goes "your plaits, that's not real"

I said "of course it is what you talking about"

He goes "fucking hell..."

Group of girls stopped me 1 time asked me if the hair came with the hat

1 time I was at a girl's house warming ting and the host goes

"You got a girl init?"

I'm like  :|

She goes "If a girl meets a guy with hair like you, she won't wanna let you go" (THIRSTY)

I didn't know where to look I never heard thirst like that before.

Coolie ting at my Uni stopped me on the stairs goes

"Where are you from?"

I knew she knew already as my boy told me she had asked him.

She goes "Your hair is really beautiful ykno"

Said "Thanks"

She goes "When I have kids my babydaddy gotta have hair like you"  :lmao:

Years ago was told I looked "rude"...I don't even know how that's possible. Pulling out the race card but I'm pretty sure it was just the fact I'm a black female.

In my working environments I have felt like some white females approach with caution.

Yeah I'm not surprised coz to someone who doesn't know you, you come across that way still.

With no words leaving my mouth? Lol interesting.

Assumptions. Nothing more. Just saying. If it's not just one person thinking or saying it sometimes you gotta look into it. I was told this myself at work and had to change up still.
