I was going to buy a laptop for around £200 from e buyers http://www.ebuyer.com/725713-hp-255-g4-laptop-n0z75ea-abu
Looking at these controllers is this worth it? anything you can recommend ?

For my mixes should I just use PC DJ or invest in something like Traktor pro
anyone else with suggestions? time to jump into the 21st century
id probably say get a pioneer rekord box controller, then you dont have any need for carrying a laptop around when you play out, will only need USBS as your set up will be configured for all the latest CDJS. Something like the XDJ-RX that geo posted or a newer one.
edit :-
that one you posted is actually a rekordbox one, but it doesnt have an lcd so i think you would need it to be plugged into the lappy to see your music, if you got one with a LCD then the only time you would need a computer is when you are syncing your tracks to the usb

Yeah @FA23 you know what I am after. I don't necessary want a laptop I thought it was something that I would need . Main thing I want is to be able to do is play my music, jingles, etc for my jingles atm I have them on cd which is pretty lame.
What would you suggest for around the £800 ? Im looking at the RX is it big @Barney Stinson? because I want to be able to carry it with me to radio. I see springy p come radio using a controller and laptop and seen Vectra use just a laptop. Sorry I am a relic when it comes to embracing new tech (wont even tell you when I first got a smart phone) I am in the dark of what I need I know what I want= something I can sort out my play my music easy to travel with, not essential but I would like something that can also play jingles.

The pioneer controllers are a decent size and weight. Yeah you will only need a laptop to play out if you want to use serato/use rekordbox on screen.
With rekordbox you just use it to organise and sync your music to your usbs or harddrives so you call have all your tracks and jingles all sorted nicley on usb... then when you plug it in to your controller or even some pioneer cdjs it will come up exactly how you organised it on the computer with playlists, bpm, genres ect ect
that's sick so you recommend spending the extra £300 on it?

Going to give them a call see if I can split the payment up over two months.
Any links for a cheaper place to purchase?

I'm still on my Numark NS6 however it's too big to carry around for radio every week so I'm looking at getting the Pioneer DDJ-SB2. Issue I have is as stated above, with the NS6 and Rane 3 I have Serato DJ Free. With the SB2 I'd have to purchase Serato DJ as Intro is sh*t.

Forget CD. You have to have a controller now in 2016. For basic and carrying to radio invest in a Pioneer SB2 in my opinion. Can pick them up 2nd hand for AROUND £120-£150 OR BRAND NEW £170-£200. With your radio shows as people are sending you music, can't be burning CD's now. Strictly e-mail and laptop.
The expensive ones look good Marcus BUT to carry that on road to radio EVERY WEEK is long. I'm looking at replacing my NS6 with that Pioneer one posted above, but to carry to radio every week (I have 2 shows) I can't be lumbering around an NS6.

Arent stations rolling with pioneer cdjs with rekordbox these days anyway?

Yeah respect Goliath my brother was saying the exact same thing as you about taking it only for radio and it cost so much, so going to buy the SB2
cheapest SSD laptop I could find (literally only using it for storing music) http://www.ebuyer.com/727187-lenovo-essential-b50-10-laptop-80qr0016uk
The DJ RX just sick been watching videos the past hour
depends on the stations out of all the stations I have been to recently Radar have had the best set up by far. Havent been to my station since March but they had only just started putting in USB decks last time I was there.
Thabk you everyone for all the advice, I found it very helpful and you guys saved me allot of time sharing your own expertise and experiences which I am grateful for.
Thank You
Laptops with a vinyl emulator are a life saver tbh, be in turntables, CDJs or controller.
Serato is so sick, if I wanted to use my brothers gear I wouldn't have to worry about the crate set up or que points.
Obviously the instant ability to play an mp3 from an e-mail or download a tune and play it straight away is epic!
Just ensure you have a SSD built in laptop.

Vinyls are back!
I started mixing again last year and I would only ever have vinyls again for decoration, I have spent waaaay to much time and effort lugging around cases and bags filled with Vinyls, there is just no space for them man it's actual hard work in 2016.

I'm a turntable guy dude.
However, I bought my younger bro the Mixtrack Pro mk 2 a couple years ago and he loves it. Would recommend. You get Serato Dj Lite with it too.
Those Pioneers are supposed to be really good (They should have all the functions of the CDJ but within a controller) and the que functions should be sick.
Word of advise, if you want to use Serato/Tracktor, please buy a PC with a SSD hard drive as it should reduce any lag and loading issues. If you have a dual hard drive laptop, try to get one with at least one SSD and install the software on the SSD, the music can be installed on another drive.
I need to replace both hard drives on my laptop to bigger SSDs tbh.
