Depends on what you're looking to do.

Anything remotely serious or long term maybe use out check back start of thread. I ended up with a Numark NS6. Was going to purchase a Aero XDJ (Pioneer) or an R1 but the opportunity came to pick up the NS6 for £300 so I ran with that. Use it for when I go on radio. Just hit record and upload mixes for FUN.

Uses and comes with Serato as well.

The CDJ maker are bringing multiple tempo control options, a tempo reset button and more to a very classic design next month.

pioneer-new-turntable.jpg

Pioneer has revealed the details of the PLX-1000.

The company is well known in the DJ world for its CDJ line of digital decks, but the PLX-1000, a direct drive turntable set for release next month, is about as analog as it gets. Rather than reinvent the wheel, they've put a very classic design back into circulation. (More on that here.) You'll find start/stop and 33/45 buttons on the left, a tempo fader on the right and an S-shaped tonearm hugging the platter.

The tempo controls are the most noticeable change from the Technics classic—you can switch from the standard plus-or-minus 8 percent to 16 or even 50. They've also included a tempo reset button, like you'd find on higher model number Technics. The power, ground and phono cables are all removeable, and Pioneer says they've got some things going on under the hood to help with damping, isolation and feedback.

See it all previewed in the video below.

Pioneer will release the PLX-1000 in August 2014 for a suggested retail price of €699.

Removable phono and ground cables is a long overdue feature, but I don't play my vinyl enough anymore to justify replacing my 1210s.

Proper Nice!!!

I got a DDJ-SR and the effects/pad layouts come close to the SZ, but the platter with the LED centre on the SZ is just on point, much better than mine. Pads are also programmable. I had a play on it before I copped my SR.

If you're used to the CDJs I'd say go for it. If you want something more mobile then go for the SR, but if you want something smaller but 4 channel then the SX.

What laptop you man running Serato On? I have one, but feel like I need a dedicated lightweight mobile one...
