Anyone played on a DDJ-SZ and have any feedback?

Proper Nice!!!

I got a DDJ-SR and the effects/pad layouts come close to the SZ, but the platter with the LED centre on the SZ is just on point, much better than mine. Pads are also programmable. I had a play on it before I copped my SR.

If you're used to the CDJs I'd say go for it. If you want something more mobile then go for the SR, but if you want something smaller but 4 channel then the SX.

What laptop you man running Serato On? I have one, but feel like I need a dedicated lightweight mobile one...

Got mine running on my 6 year old macbook, 2gb ram. runs fine cept it sometimes skips when using effects, think if i bang a ssd in it will be fine

The CDJ maker are bringing multiple tempo control options, a tempo reset button and more to a very classic design next month.

pioneer-new-turntable.jpg

Pioneer has revealed the details of the PLX-1000.

The company is well known in the DJ world for its CDJ line of digital decks, but the PLX-1000, a direct drive turntable set for release next month, is about as analog as it gets. Rather than reinvent the wheel, they've put a very classic design back into circulation. (More on that here.) You'll find start/stop and 33/45 buttons on the left, a tempo fader on the right and an S-shaped tonearm hugging the platter.

The tempo controls are the most noticeable change from the Technics classic—you can switch from the standard plus-or-minus 8 percent to 16 or even 50. They've also included a tempo reset button, like you'd find on higher model number Technics. The power, ground and phono cables are all removeable, and Pioneer says they've got some things going on under the hood to help with damping, isolation and feedback.

See it all previewed in the video below.

Pioneer will release the PLX-1000 in August 2014 for a suggested retail price of €699.

I remember Q-Bert almost baited up his involvement in the design of this turntable. I will cop these as a X-Mas present for myself.

The DDJ-SX2, with free Serato Flip expansion pack voucher, is available from October at an SRP of EUR 999/ including VAT.

PLUS the first 10,000 units come bundled with a free voucher code for the Serato Video Expansion Pack worth around EUR 129 / GBP 119.

FFS, just when I approved the order for the SZ.

Gotta check that SX2 quick and decide to wait or be impatient and bore through the SZ. As long as Pioneer stick to their guns and not do an SZ2 before end of year. Also need to check that on the SX2 the issue of not knocking the needle search by accident when you reach for the FX at the top of the deck. As the SZ has a lock on that which the previous SX didn't so u had to be careful around them sort of areas.

SZ is more than nice Swift trust. If I had to choose between the two I'd just stick with the SZ.

Thinking about upgrading from my Numark NS6 although I still really like it.

It was originally what I wanted until I saw the XDJ-R1 from Pioneer.
