So he signed without a deal being agreed with Palace?Hmmm... Spurs might get hit in the pocket on that one...
Well his contract ran out 54mins ago. Ended 31st May.So whatever we may have to pay in compensation will be pennys to us.
He's 16, he wont be able to sign a pro contract till Jan '09.Its not as simple as that...You think we paid Southampton 5m for Theo for nothing, he was 16 too at the time & we stole alot of players on that rule but dont do it in England...I even remember Dein saying that Walcott's contract with us till he was 17, was one of the longest he every seen drawn up to protect them from EVERYTHING.

Course it's not as simple as that. But Palace being cunts and Jordan being Jordan are making a messy situation out of something was which actually pretty simple in the begginning. He is a Spurs player, we have paid Palace about £4m over the course of 2 years which include bonuses in the package. Compensation for maybe jumping the gun, £500k-£1m. Like i said pennys.

Dos Santos' agent -

"The project is promising and has offered Giovani ambitious and wants to become great in the Tottenham and helping the team to be. It is true that to leave the club this is a risky decision, but for his qualities seem to be the best option for him."
Dos Santos' dad -
"it is an honor that teams such as Tottenham are set in Giovani, but there is nothing official yet but is well under way."
So things still coming along as i thought.

Massive update, much more concrete than the above -

Giovani Dos Santos is on the verge of completing a move from Barcelona to Tottenham Hotspur after a basic agreement was reached between all three parties. The 19-year-old Mexico international could join the Premier League side as early as Monday according to Sport after Barca accepted an 8million euros (£6.2million) bid. That fee may rise to 11million euros (£8.6million) depending on both Dos Santos and Tottenham meeting specified targets during his four-year stay at White Hart Lane. Dos Santos's father, Zizinho, admitted that his son is proud and excited by the thought of moving to such a prestigious club as he told Mexican daily paper, Record, that a deal was in the offing. "Nothing has been finalised," he said. "But it is an honour that a club as important as Tottenham want to sign Giovani, but nothing can be said officially yet. "The ambitious project that Tottenham have has excited Giovani and he just wants to go there and help the team in any way he can. "It is obvious that leaving Barcelona is a risky decision, but with his qualities it appears that it could be the best option for him." Spurs boss Juande Ramos was keen to land the starlet because he strongly believes that his pace, ability to break into the area and shooting ability make him perfect for the English game. Although a deal has not been finalised, Dos Santos' agent, Pini Zahavi, and Barca's sporting vice-president, Marc Ingla, believe that there will be few problems in reaching an agreement. Throughout the negotiations, Dos Santos - who is also wanted by Manchester City - has been undergoing treatment to recover from a an operation that he had on his ankle in the middle of May and is set to keep him out of action for another four weeks.
