Yeah im same as you in an office job im 21. i dont regret not going to uni because i have never been sure about what i want to do with the rest of my life. i wanna try different things not just follow the same path. i prefer work because you can go in, you know what your doing, go home at night not woory about coursework or exams and enjoy your wages at the weekends. im cool with that!
Miss K how long do you plan to do this for? @ lulu do what your heart tells you. think longterm. if you feel there is no progression in ur job then further your studies or look for another alternative. better now than never.

I lived on my J's after finsishin school so I had to work in order to pay bills & rent, but when I think about it, I cld of survived on a part time job & a part time course. I do wish I had done something back then.I did a 6 months intense paralegal course @ the age of 28, pretty alte in the game, but shwos its never too late. Now Im a paralegal & once I get a lil more experience I can claim a nice lil wedge, so kids go a uni its werf it.

however i'm beginnin to realise that at the end of the day whether you go uni or not it all comes down to how hard you strive to get to the top.. what decisons you do/don't make..what chances you do/don't take..how lucky/unlucky you are...

I did Camp America. Will probably never do it again. It was most definitely an experience and even though I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else, I don't regret it.Did some stuff I've never done before, and probably would not have done anywhere else.I agree about the apply early, I reckon I would've enjoyed it more if I would've applied to a camp I found rather than let the company find one for me.

i didnt enjoy the actual university experience...i hated every single person in my class. didnt get on well with most of the lecturers except my project supervisorsometimes i think thats what motivated me to study so hard cos i excluded myself from all the fun activities biggrin.gif surely uni is not for everyone but my advice to most young people is if you're at the college/uni going age and you are not doing anything better with your life such as studying a trade, getting a good work experience then just go uni. get that certificate/diploma. if you dont happen to use it its still there and you can always fall back on it in the future.its better than working full time in some dead end sales job at oxford street or your local tescos

I'm 18 done some A-levels on Sociology,English Lit and BTEC Sports DiplomaGot Distinctions in sociology and Sports got a place at some uni's while redoing some GCSE's that I failed first timeI saw my Exams sheet and binned it thought f*ck being another person that goes uni and does some sh*t degree and I dont see myself as a sociologist or what ever they are.I said to the uni's that I will redo some of my A-levels and decide to do another courseDoing English Lit,Chemistry,Biology,Maths this year Maths is a 2 year course and the rest I will do in a year.Pharmacy, radiologist or sports physio is me in the future. I would have done some swag subject had I decided to go uni this year and I think mentally i'm too young for uni would behave like a d*ckhead and wouldn't do sh*t.Hopefully in the next year and a half I will come with some good grades and get into a red brick uni of my choiceps. I feel young sitting amongst 16 year olds who are striving at it but i just think f*ck it and try to knuckle down

You're either a specialists, a counselor or a lifeguard.Lifeguard just sit by the lake or pool all day. Specialists, your're given a speciality area and that's what you do everyday. (You may need some experience for this but like people at my camp were doing 'ropes' and before they got to camp never even did a wall climb before).Counselors, you take the children around camp to different acitivites everyday. You kind of have the best job at camp because you get to try everything. HOWEVER, you have one of the most demanding jobs because you have the most contact time with the children. It was also extra sh*t at my camp cos us counselors had a random day off during the week (Tuesdays or Thursdays - split into 2 groups) and there was like 20 counselors on a day off either day. Specialists however all had the same day off (Saturday) and there were around 300 counselors on a day off then. Nearly everyone I had a semi-connection with at camp had this day off, all the decent girls from camp had this day off, it basically f*cked up camp for me.

you also have different types of camps. i went to a special needs camp both time, which is the most demanding. but when i look at other peoples experiences, you have more fun at special need camps. you also have like religious camps (jewish, christianity), ones for underpriveledged kids, rich kid camps, sport camps, drama camps, nature camps etci think being a counsellor is the best cuz you get to know the campers more, plus u work in a team more

Going to Uni is no guarantee that you'll make good in life.It just helps get you along in life. You still need to strive to get to the top of whatever your into. But going to Uni while your young isn't a bad thing.Especially if you have a good work ethic and your reasonably intelligent. If you've got your head screwed on you could go through Uni with a loan and pay it off when you graduate with the same loan! That's something im in the process of doing. Its makes going to Uni that bit easier as i know i wont be in debt when i graduate and while still have a bit of coin on the side incase i dont get employment straight after.
