Imagine this....your in school and you want to do the best you can. your home life sux coz your mums broke and ur dads non existant.....your mum cant cope on her own as she probably has other kids to take care off so you are free to do what you like.....you drift on the streets and mix with the wrong croud.....your studies start going downhill and your school dont give a f*ck so you start getting all pissed off....suddently you stopped caring....you want a job so you can support yourself while you study but nobody is willing to employ you (too young or just too tired from school) you turn to the government and they tell you to go suck d*cktell me...what are you likely going to do then??????????????Society screws you over thats the sad REALITYPersonally I was lucky, I had good parenting otherwise you can bet yo ass that I would probably be on the street coming to your yard and jacking your car NO LONG TING!

I agree with what you said.....totally...but thats me......im just trying to put myself in the shoes of a lot of people in my community...im trying to see the way they see....Im sorry i cant sit here and beleive that the reason that a lot of people fail in life is coz they were weak or waste.....that is just ignorant

If you read my posts like you claim to have done you will see car and flat didnt come into it.I said if you are 21/22 and havent had a job for a long period of time you are waste and I stand by it cos theres no excuse.

Since secondary school I have continually laughed at my teachers who I now (probably) earn more than.Teachers at my school always knew I had the potential, but thought I would blow it like other bright sparks had in the past. Now I see them on face-book and friend reunited looking depressed with bitten fingernails.

I've achieved quite a a bit, but I'm dissapointed in myself because I've had opportunities to acheive a lot more than I have done.

imagine if you did come from a disadvantaged background, you avoided the usual sh*t these kids get into ie. shotting, stealing, etc.. you worked your arse off to finish college, get into uni and then eventually graduate and get a job. then you come on a forum like this and are told that everything you've struggled for is "normal", not an achievement. how demoralising is that? every achievement should be congratulated, big or "small". growing up on the worst estate in london and getting your degree is a bigger deal to me than the average student getting their masters and setting up their own business.

Got my first job. Still been there for 2 years now.Got into the college i wanted to.Got thru college, even tho that was the hardest part of education in my life.Even tho i didnt get gd grades, i got onto a uni course i wanted to.Passed that with flying colours.Got onto my Photography course.Passed my driving test.Now im gettin my first car by the weekend.Life is going ok...

You're told its normal because it is. It is average. It is mediocre. The fact that you've started off disadvantaged is not overlooked just because you've worked harder than others in better positions comparitively.The way in which you've achieved what you have is what defines you. Not what you have.Imo.If you've been afforded a position which gives you every advantage over your peers, and wasted it because you don't appreciate it, or know anything different coz its just been handed to you, you don't deserve sh*t.
