I have to agree.Especially amongst people on here.After one good game a few goals Berbatov went from being a good European based player when he was @ Bayern, to a World Class 'he'll get into any team in the world' player, its laughable.World Class is reserved for the select few who do it over a consistent basis on the biggest stage at some of greatest clubs in the world.I remember getting canned on here for saying Henry wasn't World Class.If Henry is World Class then so is Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Joe Cole and flipping Rio Ferdinand.

Wonder kid - This term will get blasted around when A) The boy has a storm in a youth championship. Various media outputs just class them because they did well in the junior ranks. C) The most obvious one, they sit and play Football Manager either "scout" them themselves or use FM Scout and then big them up as a "wonder kid".Don't get me wrong some of them wonder kids fulfil potentional but others just fade.

If you a world class player then you are one of the worlds 'elite' players its a debateable phrase but its clear when a player is clearly talented at what they do - Giggs, henry and Ferdinand aren't even up for debate neither is berbatov or Rooney they are all among the elite players worldwide in thier position. Micheal Owen was a world class player at one time but is no longer abillity doesn't go but perfrmances and consistency can. Trophies shouldn't come into it really.Don't think its an overused term most people labelled world class have a reason to be. The ledgend things true as well its like certain players have to retire until thier talent gets recognised. trust if Henry or even Rooney retired today people will look back at them and be like 'rah he was world class'.

paul scholes is and was WORLD CLASS, but in 30 years he will only be remembered among united fans as a legend...beckham, was a VERY good right winger, but in 30 years he will be remembered as a football legend....thats why this whole world class thing is debatable, your profile has alot to do with how you are percieved...take riquelme for example, to me hes one of the best players i have ever set my eyes on, the way he plays the game of football is beautiful, but some people wud rather see drogba stand between two centre backs an flick the ball on....and im almost certain, outside of argentina, drogba will be remembered more than riquelme...
