I been to 4 Prem games this season and about 7 last season so although im not a regular im more than familiar with the live action.I seem to get sucked into the atmosphere,stadium, the hostlities of the away fans etc when i go to games and maybe dont cocnentrate on individual players as much as maybe a scout would so my opinion is void in a way.However I feel that i can get just as good an insight of a players abilities on TV.Dont get me wrong its different actually being able to watch a single player for a sustained period so you can observe there movement etc but i honestly dont think it makes that much of a difference.
How well can you analyse games & judge players
pires is one of my fav every players still i base my style on him and ginolahenry i wernt that impressed withco-signThe most people that ive come across that chat sh*t are season ticket holders... Its like they dont understand the gameU do have 2 go to games to see how good players are, watching Pires, Henry etc in 03/04 was amazingalso i think 80% of match regulars are totally clueless about football and are just supporters of there side and not fans of football
you just have to watch showboatsimplethe thing with TV is even if they show something good, they might emphasise something else. Like a midfielder might play some mad ball but the emphasis is on the strikers control and finish (hyperthetically(
englands second goal for example tv and media sucked off gerrards invovlement and secondary talk was about swp getting foward or crouch flick on more time i was sucking the flick outside of foot from rooney into gerrads path tv didnt mention it once
I miss bare sh*t when I watch games in stadiums.But when something great occurs it feels 4568975867 times better than watching it on tv.
My bredrin is a sports journalist for The Voice & Young Voices (& recently got a work placement @ 4-4-2 magazine)When I go to games with him spots all types of stuff that I totally miss. And if he's watching at home he'll text me all excited about a turn or flick that someone did. watches games with a trained eye & analyses them with a fine tooth comb.
plus you get commentators who would wifey certain playersenglands second goal for example tv and media sucked off gerrards invovlement and secondary talk was about swp getting foward or crouch flick on more time i was sucking the flick outside of foot from rooney into gerrads path tv didnt mention it once
Seen bare great players live or on TV.Some players actually look better on TV than they do in real life (Kaka) its down to their style of play.I thought Berbatov was good on tv but watching him live especially against Bolton made me realise he's a Master class footballer.Watching Deco live as well >>>>>>>>>>>>.Bare strength for a little guy.
Yeah, I seen him vs Fulham @ Craven Cottage, sick technique.You are one of the few special ones on this forum that has seen the light.*salutes*Rsonist said Berbatov's technique is a sight to behold live & I've seen him 3 times now & he ain't lieing.
It is true that there's certain things you won't pick up on until you've been to a live game, however once you gain that knowledge you can take that and see it from TV.Andy Cole's movement in his prime at OT looking from the Stretford end - left, right, left, right, hold, right, left (near post dash)URGH!
As long as there's a balance your free to make whatever opinions you choose.Because the fact of the matter is going to games doesn't make you have a better opinion.e.g. me sitting next to someone that thought it was a good idea to sign Baros, as we need an out and out centre forward.That being said there's plenty of people on here who base their opinions soley on Youtube or match highlights, which is wrong.You need to be able to watch games to get a general feel of how teams/players play. Not short clips showing their best.But still;Going to games>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Watching on TV
You need a mix of both tbh.When you watch a game on Sky you only get shown what they point out.They only re-show the highlites after the game during their analysis of the stars.And when you're at the game you can only see it once so of course you're gonna miss certain things.But I echo what Tronics finished with;
Going to games>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Watching on TV
cant..emphasize..enoughco-signalso i think 80% of match regulars are totally clueless about football and are just supporters of there side and not fans of football
It depends i think.To me, i see FAR more watching the games when im home or away sitting in the stands, abeit if i havent had the usual 6+ pints to drink before the match.I dont tend to stand there and analyse the games, im more interested in singing and getting behind the team and giving the away/home fans dogs abuse. So in a sense watching it at home you would be able to take in alot more, seeing as in some cases you are in a more laid back relaxed atmosphere so to speak.I like to stick up for my own fanbase alot, we do have good fans, great fans to be honest 98% of the time, but again EVERY fanbase has their dumb f*ckin football fans. I have seen it at games, the boys jumping round singing with their rose tinted glasses on and the ones standing back taking everything in that will try their uptmost to give an unbias view of the goings on.I do hear ALOT of stupid shite standing around Tottenham fans, ie. "Boateng will be good", "Chimbonda will score first", "we should beat Man Utd by 3 the way we are playing at the moment", "Ronaldo is shite, we got O'Hara"And many more, but in the pub, around neutrals its even f*ckin worse, some sh*t i hear the average London team fans come out with, espeically Chelsea fans, f*ck sake, just f*ck sake.So there really isnt a pure answer, whether you see more on the TV or at the match or get a better opinion either way, i guess it just depends on the type of fan that you consider yourself to be, and the knowledge of the game on a whole you actually have.I had to wash my hands after I typed that!So whats your view on the subject? I wanna get plp's view who regularly go to games.You are one of the few special ones on this forum that has seen the light.*salutes*Rsonist said Berbatov's technique is a sight to behold live & I've seen him 3 times now & he ain't lieing.

when im not being biased my view of the game is not affected by the one camera angle that is given to me as i have been to enough live games to know whats good.....also i think 80% of match regulars are totally clueless about football and are just supporters of there side and not fans of football... because some of the sh*t they come out with make guys like rare uno and roskie look like gavin hamilton..on a whole i actually think this is one of the better educated sites when it comes to actuall football... some of the other football forums i use the guys might no more about [player histories and foriegn football but there actuall knowledge of the game minus names and teams is deadout and makes me cringe when reading tru match day topics and sh*t.
