Paris Saint-Germain's proposed move for QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt has hit a snag due to a dispute between the French club's Qatari owners and sporting director Leonardo, according to France Football.

The 21-year-old Moroccan has split opinion within PSG's hierarchy, as Leonardo is much less keen on the player than club president Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the report suggests.

Al-Thani is completely sold on Taarabt, who was voted the best player in the Championship last season after he scored 19 goals and provided 16 assists for Neil Warnock's men, who were promoted to the Premier League as champions.

Despite Leonardo's misgivings, he submitted an initial bid of £5.3 million for the former Tottenham starlet, but indicated that he would not offer more than £7m, which is well short of QPR's asking price of £10.5m upfront plus bonuses.

The Brazilian has been instructed to continue negotiating with the London outfit, and admitted that not everything has gone smoothly since his return to PSG, telling the magazine: "Already, we are starting not to get on so well."

The ambitious club from the French capital have been linked with a number of high-profile names since the arrival of the Qatari investors, including Inter's Samuel Eto'o and Santos' Ganso.

Althoe I would like to see the boy in the prem, i think a move away from Loftus Road is the best for Taarabt & Qpr

It doesnt look like Qpr will invest tat heavily in the side, Colin could be gone at anytime and im not sure how Taarabt would cope in a strugglin team

CLUB STATEMENT

Posted on: Thu 28 Jul 2011

On 4th March 2011 the Company (QPR Holdings Limited) announced that it was in preliminary discussions with a potential purchaser.

At the time the Takeover Panel confirmed that should those discussions result in an offer being made for the Company, the offer would be subject to the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers (the Code), even if such an offer was made after 2nd April 2011, being the date on which the Company ceased to be to the Code, due to it being de-listed 10 years previously.

The Company confirms that these discussions came to an end in March 2011.

Since the end of these discussions, the Company has entered into preliminary discussions with a different party and can confirm that these discussions and any subsequent transaction would not be subject to the Code.

Accordingly the Company confirms that it is no longer in an offer period for the purposes of the Code.

We will be making no further comment at this stage.

Warnock set to inherit transfer war chest with takeover looming

Air Tycoon Tony Fernandes is preparing to hand Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock a transfer fund of £10million as he looks to finalise his takeover plans.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed how the Malaysian-businessman held talks with QPR co-owner Bernie Ecclestone and his business partner Flavio Briatore over purchasing a majority stake in the Barclays Premier League new-boys.

And Fernandes’ interest in the Loftus Road club was evident when the millionaire businessman joined Briatore on a whistlestop visit to Bergamo, Italy, to watch the West London club win the three-team Bortolotti Trofeo tournament, which also included Atalanta and Braga.

EXCLUSIVE: DJ'S COMING HOME

Posted on: Thu 04 Aug 2011

Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.

The 29 year-old front-man, who scored 13 goals in the Barclays Premier League last season, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Loftus Road.

The deal represents a remarkable homecoming for Campbell, who as well as supporting the Club all his life, also spent his early playing days in W12, alongside another new Rangers recruit, Jay Bothroyd.

"It's a Club that I supported as a kid," an excited Campbell told www.qpr.co.uk.
