from what ive heard hes been held back from pro terms because they dont think hes ready mentally. this guy has been ready for reserve football for at least 2 years butt he wasnt even a regular for u-18s last year. and its not because hes not been playing sick. its literally a case where if he achieves too much too soon he will self destruct

In the words of Bang Em Smurf, "the worst place you leave me if you want me to get my mind right is in the hood".

If the club REALLY rate him, and he's 17+ moves will be made to save him/damage limitation.

What i was thinking

/

See when foreign lads like Macheda/Petrucci etc move over here with their families how are they housed and what sort of areas do they live in, surely if the club think he has that much potential they would move him out of his area for his own sake but i can see him making it and then living that Adriano lifestyle because Ferguson won't even be around then really to keep him on track and the next manager will just either give up for him or let him walk over him whoever it is

Exactly, this will only work if he gets moved out on Loan to Antwerp or somthing. as if he's still in driving distance of the distractions it'll make no difference.

and god forbidd he gets pro terms and starts splashing the cash. worst thing thsat could happen to be honest

Thats nonsense cos you actually do not know who is raising him... I know yutes that when I look at their background have simply had NO chance from birth.

I don't believe there is no saving him at all by the club, its one yute versus the powers of the so called biggest football club in the World, trust me if they wanna save him they can, they put one paid person with patience on him full-time, its really not that hard.

Sir Alex Ferguson insists he will not make big summer signings at Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson has given a clear indication of his readiness to start the new season without further additions to his squad by insisting he is happy with the business he has already done in the transfer market.

While neighbours Manchester City are set to take their summer spending to £77million with the signing of Lazio full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, Ferguson has invested just £17million in defender Chris Smalling and Mexican forward Javier Hernandez.

Ferguson admitted recently that he pondered a move for Spain forward David Villa prior to his £34million move from Valencia to Barcelona.

But despite the lack of a big-name arrival at Old Trafford since the end of last season, Ferguson insists he has no fears over United starting the campaign with his current squad.

He said: "I can't speak for other clubs, but we're comfortable with squad we've got. We've bought players, in terms of during the season, and we are quite happy with that.

"The players have been great, they have been putting in some really good work (during training in the USA). It's now we're seeing the benefit of our work. It's really bringing us to the right level we expect of them."

United, in Philadelphia ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Philadelphia Union, have been boosted by Portuguese winger Nani returning to training after missing the World Cup with a shoulder injury.

Nani said: "I started training with the team three days ago, so this is a great opportunity for me to have a good pre-season."

what exactly does fine mean. From when Chelsea have a player like Essien coming back, and they're making bids for man like Neymur we could be in danger of falling behind, i rate him highly but i just cant see Rooney having a season like he did last time round, we have good young players coming through but can they make the step up?

Season should be interesting one way or another.

Only question i've got, is what will happen if value never returns to the market?

Fine meaning not good enough for me to say we'll definitely win the league but not bad enough to say we'll finish below 2nd.

It would be great to add a few world class signings but realistically that's not gonna happen so all I can do is hope the kids step up.

Honestly if Arsenal can keep Cesc and there defence survives Gallas leaving, i see no reason why they shouldnt leappfrog us, you can even Argue that if the unthinkable happens and City actually manage to create a team there they may cause us a few problem aswell.

thing is no one is really expecting world class signings, just an AM with enough quality to unlock defences, as thats where we lacked last season.

Duunoo in two minds having no money is going to make us rely on bringing players through surely out of all our youngers at least 3 can make it but on the other hands our rivals have money and can buy ready made world class players

part of would be happy to see us field lots of former academy players and finish 3rd or 4th for a cuple years at the expense of spending 60mil on foreign players and win the PL 2 years in a row

sounds dumb but my opinion

tbh Kompressor

Most of uniteds season was without the 1st choice centreback pairing of rio and vidic

and when it came to crunch time in terms of scoring goals. Macheda, Welbeck& Owen were all injured. I didnt think any of the strikers bar Rooney had a good season. To assume all of them will have a bad season again is stupid.

United are not as "weak" as people seem to think. They are more than well enough equipped to win the Prem. its the CL where question marks get raised

Am I the only one then that fully expects the Premiership to be coming home to Old Trafford this season? I'm very much of the oppinion were gonna be back to our best without any Major Money signings. I would of liked a big name to come in but I don't think were gonna suffer without one now.

It all depends on what the other do to be honest.

both Chelsea and City have the spending power to improve, its in Chelsea's hands at the minute and while we have as good a chance as anyone to take it away from them, as Fergie once said to not constantly significantly strengthen your squad means your going backwards.

i'm happy that the youngsters are being given a chance, but not happy that we're being forced into this tactic, as i said should make for a interesting/exciting season either way.

it'd be a great achievement to win the league next season as i dont think Chelsea have even finished their shopping yet.

Arsenal and Liverpool will also be in the hunt not to mention possibly Spurs

United had injuries that stunted our form during the season yes thats granted, but so did other teams,

i cant overlook the affect that the whole John Terry saga had on Chelsea aswell as the Essien and Cashley injuries.

the only time the defences injuries really affected us was when they were all out but Evra. i dont expect Rio to be able to play week in week out, but that shouldnt be a huge problem as Evans is more than good enough to step in

i'm one of the people who believe that despite the critics Berba had a decent season last time out.

our only first teamer who was really below par last season was Carrick.

i'd love to be with you in believing that everythings fine but the fact that we are still without a left sided midfielder as in my oppinion it'd be a crime to move Nani back over there after his excellent form on the right and the fact that i doubt Valencia can do it over there.

all the players coming in as reinforcements are untested largely, i'll reserve judgement on Smalling for now, but i dont think he'll improve us, and Hernandez is a wait and see.

united and chelseas core players have winning mentality. They understand at their clubs you MUST win every match. If you dont you have slipped up. They understand even when they are playing sh*t its irrelevant. They still have to win. This isnt something you can grow overnight. Chelsea and United can both be 2-0 down with 10 minutes left and not let the result lie, they BELIEVE they can score 3 goals in 10 minutes.Tottenham and City have a long way to go before they achieve this kind of mentality regardless of who they sign. Arsenal had this mentality but bar Fabregas, RVP, Clichy & possibly Vermaelen, the team is very fragile mentally. Going a goal or two down effectively destroys them.

Unless someone has a wonder season there will only be two teams fighting for the title for the next 2 or 3 years.

It sounds cliche but if Anderson can finally step up then he is like a new signing plus last season we had no Brown/Oshea/Fabio for half of it, Obertan, Gibson, Macheda, Welbeck, Hernandez can all add goals and assists and Owen if he can stay fit will get important goals aswell. Rafael has the chance to win the RB spot this season imo and become one of the best in the PL, Berbatov will be looking to finally prove all his doubters wrong, Valencia will be more settled in and Carrick has had all summer off so should be sharp and also looking to prove a point along with Rooney who will eager to get started again. Chelsea may have a better starting 11 but we have a better squad, squads win PL titles

I dont think Nani on the left is a problem in the slightest if im honest.

Valencia one side Nani the other was a frightening combo at times.

If Valencia actually decides to use that ridiculous pace at the correct times this season he will tear it up again. (IMO he was one of our more consisten performers last season)

Anderson playing regularly is what we have needed for a while. As soon as he gets a run of games the confidence boost is very noticeable.
