No. My mate cant say "no" and he lets everyone drive his car. its a brand new 08 Polo as well and he lets people do hand break turns n sh*t over gravel with stoned flying everywhere. I say why do you let people do it cos I know I wouldnt let anyone drive mine. He let someone drive it before and they crashed, had to pretend they were the one who was insured on the car.

You are permitted to lend your car to someone for a short period of time without having them on your insurance policy. However they do need to possess a valid full driving licence. The car will still be insured under your (or whoever's) name and you will be the one responsible for anything that may happen whilst the car is being borrowed. If they get pulled over, they will have to show their valid driving licence and proof of your insurance and explain to the officer that they are simply borrowing the car. However if you don't want to use this method, simply phone/fax/email your insurance company and add this person to your insurance policy.

where did u get that spiel from mate?I swear even if the person has their own insurance that lets them drive other ppls whips, the cover that applys is Third Party Only! Meanin your whip wouldnt be gettin repaired for sh*t, only the poor f*cker they crash into.In all the years ive been drivin, i swear i can still count on one hand the amount of ppl ive allowed behind the wheel. Its not about them havin a lil "bump" at all!!

Bare bullshit. You have to be insured, period!!!What you said was bare crap tbh.Either add the person to your insurance or they may have their own insurance that lets them drive any car or tell them to get dayly insurance.

Don't have a car, but if I did I think there would be pretty much at most three people I know drive my car and that's because I know they are good for paying for any damage they would cause to the car.

I don't let anyone touch my car. Only my closest friend got to drive about 50m outside her house once she got her license. My dad drove my other car all the time when he wasn't insured on it. But is it the case that if you have comprehensive insurance and you're over a certain age you're insured on all vehicles (correct me if I'm wrong)?
