AC Milan technical director Leonardo has failed to dampen speculation linking Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos with a surprise move to the San Siro.Press reports have suggested the Switzerland international is a Milan target as head coach Carlo Ancelotti aims to reinforce his defensive options.Senderos' form at Arsenal has been mixed since he signed from Servette in 2003 while he has struggled for regular first-team football, making just 14 Premier League starts last term. The 23-year-old could see his opportunities reduced further this term after the Gunners landed experienced defender Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United on Wednesday. It is claimed Milan could turn to centre-back Senderos before the close of the transfer window, and Leonardo has done little to ease the mounting rumours surrounding a transfer. He told Mediaset: "Senderos? There is nothing definite but the market is open until 31st August."However, the player's agent claims there has been no official approach from Milan."I have no news about it, I am currently on holiday and I have not had any official contact," Franco Granello told calciomercato.com.

Most defenders don't peak until their late 20's/early 30's over in Italy if not anywhere in football (but Italy especially)Plus, with the likes of Costacurta, Baresi & Maldini coaching.Senderos is what? Only 23? And he played a part in a record breaking defence in the Champion's League already.Like I said, Senderos would murk over there.

Milan Table Senderos BidAccording to the Corriere dello Sport, Milan have tabled a bid to sign Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos, and it is likely that the transfer will go through. With just over a week to go until the closure of the transfer window, things are becoming desperate for Milan in their search for a centre back. With key man Alessandro Nesta out injured, and with Dario Simic and Digao having recently been offloaded, the Rossoneri are terribly thin at the back going into the new season.Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic had seemed certain to join the club on loan, but the transfer fell through when the Londoners refused to insert an option. The Corriere now claims that Milan have turned their attentions to another Premiership based player, in the form of Arsenal centre back Philippe Senderos.Milan have made an offer to sign the Swiss international on a one-year loan, with the option to make the move permanent next year for €7-8m.Senderos is down the pecking order at the Emirates following an error-prone season last term, and Arsene Wenger is prepared to let him leave, having just signed a replacement in the form of Manchester United’s Mickael Silvestre. The 23-year-old Senderos has made 74 Premiership appearances, scoring four goals, since signing for Arsenal from Servette in December 2002.
Reports claim three other clubs are interested and it looks like Wenger may sell...The lad turns 24 in Feb, should we keep him or his he just not Arsenal standard?

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a move for Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos. The Swiss international is reported to be a target for the San Siro side and Newcastle as doubts grow over his future at Emirates Stadium. The recent arrival of Mikael Silvestre has fuelled rumours that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger may be willing to cash-in on Senderos.Ancelotti admits he is aware of Senderos, but insists the player will not be joining the Italian giants."I know Senderos, but I don't know if he is going to become a Milan player, and I don't even know if Arsenal have the will to sell him," Ancelotti told the club's official website."He would not be the first player to be linked with Milan in the newspaper, but then does not arrive."

Milan have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos on a one year loan deal, with the option to make the move permanent next summer. The Rossoneri have been desperately searching for a centre back in recent weeks following the injury to key man Alessandro Nesta. With Dario Simic and Digao both being offloaded, things started to become desperate for the Rossoneri when primary target Branislav Ivanovic, who had seemed certain to join from Chelsea, saw his transfer fall through at the last moment. It was reported last week that Milan had turned their attentions to another Premiership based player, in the form of Arsenal centre back Philippe Senderos, and the deal has now been officially completed. The Swiss centre back arrives on a one year loan deal, and Milan have the option to make the move permanent for a set fee next summer.Senderos had been well down the pecking order at Arsenal following an error-prone season last term, and Arsene Wenger signalled his intention to let him leave after signing Manchester United’s Mickael Silvestre last week. The 23-year-old Senderos made 74 Premiership appearances, scoring four goals, since signing for Arsenal from Servette in December 2002.He has won 31 caps for Switzerland, playing at World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008.
