Should never have changed "Welcome To Heartbreak" beat! He'll never top "College Dropout" and "Late Registration", I like a few tracks off this but roll on "Good Ass Job" that's if he goes with that title.

allow it, kanye sings all of the songs
Was expected after hearing a couple songs and how it was hyped.

So I held off listening to the leaked tracks, I kept out of the discussions and hype, because I wanted to approach this album with an open mind. I rate Kanye, and wanted to see what he was doing here, to listen to the album with no pre-judgements when it arrived. First things first, it's obviously not a traditional hip-hop album. Which isn't a bad thing. There's nothing intriniscally wrong with ignoring the blueprint, and working outside of the box. And it's not just a 'what-if' experiment, he obviously takes this sh*t seriously, and is more invested in his music than most people today. Each of his albums have had a particular feel and aesthetic, and his ability to craft a music statement with a coherent direction and atmosphere is remarkable, and improving. It's certainly stepped up a notch here. But dammit, I can't f*cks with this auto-tune. I just can't. It's a dealbreaker for me.Which is so disappointing for this album. Because Kanye's production otherwise is uniformly amazing here. His writing improved too - maybe it's the intensely personal nature of the album, but in parts it's really great. I like that it's a "concept" album (hate that term), or more accurately, an artistic statement which captures his feelings and outlook at the time of its creation. Too few albums are pieces of musical art, too many are just compilations of singles. And Kanye has the skill and the honesty to make it work, to align his feelings with his vision as a musician, and execute it brilliantlyIt's a gamble to sing on autotune. For me, it didn't pay off. But it's as much of a gamble, coming from a genre so dominated by cartoonish maschismic bravado, to make an album about a woman that broke his heart. And that part, to me, was a slam-dunk. I like what he's talking about, he hits it perfectly. The breakdown of a relationship, the lost love, his mother, the trappings of fame and fortune, and general cynicism and emptiness. Very refreshing, in a time where so much music is plagued by monotony. And it's 100% more genuine than his attempts at alpha-male braggadocio, where he comes like a bitchy diva. People might call the subject matter emo or whatever, but I don't know exactly when expressing emotions became a negative for music, since it's a defining feature of what makes music great. It's not as if he's spent a career complaining about how sh*t everything is - this is an album about the pain and coldness he's feeling at this juncture in his life, and that's worthwhile and commendable imoBut yeah. Sort out the auto-tune brav.

Streetlights is proper song writingi could bust that tune out on an acoustic guitar round a camp fire and people would cheerget to know
Will check that but after hearing my faith in the album died. Overall, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be to tell the truth
