Whatever next

ISLAMIC law has been ushered into Britain by the back door.Ministers have quietly given Sharia courts power to rule on Muslim civil cases. These range from divorce and financial disputes to domestic violence. But furious Tories said the step “pandered to Islamic extremists”. MP Philip Davies said: “There can be only one legal system — British law. This will lead to a segregated society.”Powers of Sharia judges have been sanctioned at five courts in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and Nuneaton, Warwicks. Two more are planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh. If both parties in a dispute agree to abide by their rulings, they are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system.Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, used a clause in the Arbitration Act 1996. It allows Sharia hearings to be classed as ‘arbitration tribunals’.AdvertisementBut Shadow Home Secretary Dominic Grieve said: “If these tribunals are passing binding decisions I would consider such action unlawful.”Earlier this year, Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams suggested that the use of Sharia in Britain “seems unavoidable”.The Justice Ministry confirmed arbitration decisions were enforceable, but denied Sharia law was part of the law of England and Wales.

The UK's first state-funded Hindu schoolThe UK's first state-funded Hindu school has opened to pupils, it was announced today. The reception class of the Krishna-Avanti Primary School, made up of 30 pupils, began studies today in temporary facilities at a next door school in Edgware, north west London. Pupils will have to wait until next year before moving into a purpose-built school billed to become one of the most environmentally friendly in the country. The school will offer an education based on Hindu values and beliefs but lessons will follow the national curriculum.Pupils will have the opportunity to practise meditation and yoga, with school lunches following a strictly vegetarian diet. There will also be classes in the classical Sanskrit language on offer.

Like they dont know what there doing and wanting this country to fall and then intergrate fully into Europe. They just want to over crowd this country and cause friction between people.

England is Europe's most crowded countryTuesday, 16 September 2008 England has become the most crowded major country in Europe, figures indicated today. High immigration levels mean the population density has overtaken that of Holland, which previously topped the list. New details released to MPs show that there were 395 people to every square kilometre in England in 2008 - up from 390 two years ago. The most recent figures available for Holland are from 2005, when it had 393 people per square kilometre. Since then its population is believed to have remained steady or fallen slightly. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-...try-932373.html

It's wrong becuase it almost equates as a mild form of diplomatic immunity.Reverse it.In Saudi Arabia, you can be imprisoned for 5 years having sex in public yeah?I go their with my girlfriend. Blatantly flout this law, but both of us opt for adjudication by a western court of law. We are both punished accordingly (some medial community service or most likely a fine/warning).Thats in its simplified terms anyway.edit:teh missbee

I find it funny you people who know nothing about how the courts work chat sh*t. Some ignorant people, you seriously need to learn the facts if you want to speak on stuff like this before coming out with the "dem moozlimz is always diffrant for dem init" type sh*t.
Its not people attacking that religion but making people know that you must respect that countrys laws or do not reside in that country.Should I demand British laws when I visit Saudi Arabia?

If you read the original post, you will see that ministers are implementing certain aspects of Sharia Law into the current system.No-one is demanding or imposing anything.

There is already a Jewish court of Arbitration . These religious courts cannot deal with serious crime such as murder and so on. Both parties have to agree to settle their case in these courts, if one party refuses to then they go to the normal courts and its usually for things such as divorces, wills etc.Its already in place for Jewish people so if Muslim people want one where they can settle their cases under their religious beliefs who are you to deny them that?

That sounds like a seperate entity being granted power to utilise Sharia Law.Not an update of our existing laws and integrated into our own legal system.
