Best protein shake?

shake definitely helps but it is NOT necessary/important after your workouts. Some of the big /shredded cunts in my gym just bang out their sessions and head straight home.

google these guys if you're not familiar with them. they're all known for eating whenever they want and not following this bullshit eat every 2-3 hours rule. 

 

as long as you meet your macro nutrient needs it doesn't matter what time of the day you eat/or how many grams of protein you need. 

 

Do you not think it could just be genetics and the guys you mentioned above are just lucky and not the norm?

 

Im not an expert in nutrition but most people i know who are shredded or big do have to be very strict with their diets...if not then wouldnt everybody at the gym be hench or shredded?

 

 

Yep, deffo keep it strict and clean (maybe 1 cheat meal a week) BUT you don't have to be a slave and ruin your social life by eating 6-7 meals a day. As long as you're getting in your protein/carb/fat requirements.

 

I pretty much got in the best shape of my life by yamming 3 meals a day at least with 40 grams of protein each. 

 

You know what my bad...I thought the highlighted section said eat WHATEVER they wanted...

 

But i agree you dont have to eat every few hours but i can see the logic behind it.... As you said as long as you are hitting your daily macros you will be fine...

 

That being said and i am not sure if it is purely sub-conscience and in my head but if i dont have a protein shake after a work out i feel like its been wasted lol.

The main reason people have 6 small meals instrad of a couple big meals is because youre eating before youre hungry which lowers cravings and keeps self control.. Before i was dieting i ate a lot thru boredom/just wanted to eat something, i wasnt actually hungry .. Forcing down a tin of tuna is easy but when youre hungry and there are better options (take away menu) it makes it a lot harder.. My diet is impeccable but in general my self control isnt the best.. Eating before im hungry is prob the only way i could stay clean

Made a shake from oats, banana, almond milk and the Strawberry Cream I ordered from myprotein.

 

Was fucking immense... if you like strawberry flavored stuff of course.

 

Hardly use it cause I usually just use the plain one and add like honey or PB for a little flavour but gard damn.

Got my unflavoured protein from Myprotein.com yesterday.  Really and truly I should have been buying before as I'm not particularly concerned with taste and I throw it down my throat relatively quickly.

Gonna start buying steaks.  Not sure on prices but from people's experience are they expensive or reasonably priced to buy a couple from the butchers?

Do whatever works for you, is always my advice with the gym/supplements.

 

My best results have been achieved using supplements, eating 5-8 meals a day, and changing up my programme every 3-4 weeks. You must also cycle off you supplements, only supplement you should stick to is food.

 

Also try to understand how each supplement works for you, otherwise you are wasting your money.
