Just come back from Cuba. Very nice place. People are friendly as anything. Even though everyman and their dog spend their timetrying to get you to buy cigars off them.

Old Havana was the best part, actually felt like I was in City Of God, but at the same time its safe. Police everywhere. Really makes you realise how much of a bump England is though. 1l of Havana Club rum costs 7 CuC in a shop. which is about £4.75. In England same bottle is £20+.

Beach was live as well.

I'm going away at the end of the month, first time in a while....is it true certain hotels will make you pay a deposit at check in incase of damage???

Apparently my hotel charges a $300 deposit, doesnt say anything on their website and seems a bit steep.

when i was in dubai my deposit was £2500

i had to pay £50 when i went and was given a huge list of charges that are given for damages..stupid things like £5 for a fork eventho there were no forks in our room lol.. i ended up breaking the door which was like £150 but they didn't clock so got away with it

stayed in Melia on the island santa maria.

Was far from havana tbh. Had to fly there, took about 1.5 hours but stayed there for 2 days. the best beaches are on the small islands, but the nightlife is LIVE in Havana. The locals are friendly to black/mixed people as well. They treat you like theyre one of them, bare people would come up to me speaking spanish and then when they clocked i wasnt from there they were bare friendly, Old Havana especially, For a place that basically looks like city of god, you cant feel as safe.
