great film, a strong 8/10. i always knew the story had the possibility of being sick but whether they executed it properly would be the deciding factor.the director added nicely to the story and made it deep.the potrail of the war was spot on, straight up raw how it should be. would of been a 10/10 had it been an 18.
this movie seems to have gotten average to poor reviews.i do think their are flaws (lack of fluidity in the plot, character depth, etc) but when you consider this is in a war where you need to focus on surviving every second, its a bit difficult to add in a lot of human interaction to deeply define characters. that said their is always intervals where some character development can be done but because this movie is just non-stop action it sacrifices some of that.a lot of criticism goes on bale as connor, a leader of humanity who shows no humaness in his actions. it is a bit contradicting, but given the dire situation its obvious that humans would loose some humanity and become a bit miserable after seeing and living in that. still this doesnt mean bale should use his batman voice for john connor lol.the only other things that bring this movie down are the cheap shots: the use of the catch phrases as jokes and the 2 scenes which appear as rip off ideas from other films (a result of lazy writers).
theres also one plot hole i found. when kyle reese is stated as no.1 on skynets list and is then detected he isnt killed straight away, but used as bait to lead john connor (their no.2 target) into a trap so both of them can be killed. the most likely reasoning to kyle being no.1 is that they know he is johns father, but they dont kill him (and hence john) straight away so this isnt consistent with the actions skynet takes. the arguement against this is that skynet only knows reese goes back in time to protect sarah connor and dont know he is john's father.....this just goes on tho. you can sit and nit-pick the plot forever if you want to be an over critical movie snob....or you can just accept a few minor fictional flaws and enjoy all the good points.
