22/04/2009 22:42, Report by Gemma ThompsonDefensive duo out 'for weeks'United's defensive injury curse has struck again following the news that Gary Neville and John O'Shea will be out "for weeks" after both hobbled out of the Reds' 2-0 victory over Portsmouth.Neville exited proceedings on 13 minutes following an extensive examination by United's medical staff on the skipper who had limped to the side of the pitch. He was replaced by John O'Shea who lasted until the 52nd minute when Rafael da Silva entered the fray in his place. The Brazilian has himself only recently returned from an ankle injury, while last season's first choice right-back Wes Brown has been unavailable for most of the season because of injury. He did, however, play an hour in the Reserves' win over Preston on Monday.Sir Alex admits the absence of Neville and O'Shea over the coming weeks is a blow and he was particularly disappointed by the way in which both picked up their injuries."They're going to be out for weeks and that's a disappointment because they're both bad tackles and the referee's done nothing about it," the boss told MUTV. "I usually expect a really firm display from Peter Walton but not tonight."There was some good news for the Reds though with the confirmation that Rio Ferdinand was merely rested against Portsmouth rather than left out because of injury."The fact Rio had played extra time [in the FA Cup semi-final] after only just coming back from two or three weeks out meant it was too big a risk," revealed Sir Alex."There was nothing wrong with his groin, it was just tiredness. Of course, with Jonny Evans being such a good performer, it's easy to do that."http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=...;newsid=6631204

Brown is supposed to be a week or 2 away from a 1st team return so yeah he'll probably be back for the Emirates game or even Middlesbrough away before that. Think we got 2 reserves games from now until then so that will give him a chance to get his match fitness back to normal. How long will Djourou, Clichy, RVP and Adebayor be out for?

Djourou nobody knows yet, should get a better idea on Friday.Clichy should be back for United away.No time has been put on RvP yet.Adebayor isn't injured, he's being rested for you.
