Is it true Roy said he had the chance to sign VDV but opted not to 'cause he had too many top players in that position?

VDV's agent was basically shopping him around and contacted us but Hodgson said no.

He later said 'I think he is a very good player but he is not the profile of the player we were looking for so when it came up I made it clear we had players in Van der Vaart's position.'

We played SICK in the 1st half today

So unlucky to lose though deserved all 3 points and more

Didnt like the way we sat back 2nd half and invited pressure on. Pressure results in goals! Roy should know this by now.

Game should have been done 1st half.

Lol @ Koncheilny playing and Aurelio on bench. Onto the next one. 4th is still up for grabs and we will demolish Spurs and Shitty at Anfield.

Liverpool left-back Paul Konchesky has accepted responsibility for his role in Tottenham's winning goal on Sunday.

Konchesky was unable to prevent direct opponent Aaron Lennon slipping past for a last-gasp strike at White Hart Lane to seal Spurs' 2-1 triumph after Reds defender Martin Skrtel had already scored at both ends.

However, despite the disappointing result, 29-year-old Konchesky insists Roy Hodgson's side can take plenty of positives from the north London outing.

Responsibility

"Straight after I knew that I'd have to hold my hands up, but we also had chances to win the game," Konchesky told Liverpool's official site.

"That's part of football and we've got to try and take the positives out of the game.

"I was gutted (with the winner). Being the last minute as well, it didn't give us any time to get back into the game.

"But that's life, we've got to put it behind us, and I've got to put it behind myself for the next game."

Asked how he was settling on Merseyside following a summer transfer from Fulham, Konchesky added: "It's taken me a while, and I got injured early on so I'm just getting back to playing at full fitness now. I'm getting used to the atmosphere and the people surrounding the team.

"There is a lot of pressure here but it's a good pressure. The fans want you to be in the top four because that's where Liverpool belong.

"I've got to up my game. Where I've played before has not been as high a standard as Liverpool, but this is a good pressure."

Regardless of Sunday's defeat Konchesky, who also worked under Hodgson at Craven Cottage, feels the manager is gradually putting his own stamp on the team.

"I can see signs that we're starting to play in the style he wants," he said.

"The more we work on it on the training ground, the more the players get used to what the manager wants.

Higher standard

"We're taking it into games. The performances have been of a much higher standard in the last two games.

"It's about organisation and a lot of hard work. Players filling in for each other when someone's out of position.

"I think the team is becoming organised in the system."

I would love Roy to prove me wrong, but its not going to happen.

And we need to be thinking of the long term, Roy is 62. Might as well get in someone younger now instead of keeping this embarrassment.

Saw Owen Coyle's name being floated about earlier (if we really wanted to stay British).

Or by the end of the season I can see

Pacheco

Torres

Johnson

Agger

Jova

All leaving, probs with other youngsters.

Reports of Carlton Cole... :(

THIS

Guy just pisses me off everytime he opens his mouth now.

Gradually annoyed me more and more since his appointment.

Selling Dalla Valle AND Kacaniklic for f*ck*ng Konchesky

The Insua saga

The pacheco saga

Signing Poulsen

Labelling some of the squad 'B team players'

His stupidness when it comes to any interview and the way he seems to backtrack so much on his own comments

Freezing out Agger

Aquilani being moved on soon as he's declared fully fit

His score then sit back 'tactics'

playing Raul at RM so he can put Gerrard CM

The list goes on and on.

The new owners have talked of wanting to bring in young talented players to work for a good future for the club, maybe they take the same approach when it comes to selecting a manager to replace roy. Wish we had just got pellegrini when we had the chance
