Rafa Benitez has issued a personal guarantee to Kopites that Liverpool will finish in the top four. The Reds boss has moved to assure them after seeing his side slip to seventh in the race for a Champions League spot on the back of their miserable run of three wins in 15 games.Benitez is adamant they will start picking up points now that stars like Fernando Torres are back playing."Every game for us is a game we have to win," he said ahead of tomorrow's clash with Wigan at Anfield."Our mentality is to win every game. Sometimes you and sometimes you can't."But you can't be negative. You have to be positive and I am really positive."How can I change things? By working hard every day. The players are the same as me and they are working hard every day in training. "I can guarantee we will finish in the top four. "If you make mistakes, you have to keep going. We still have 22 games to play. We know we have to change our target and now it's about getting three points against Wigan. If we do that, then we move on to Portsmouth."When you are in a bad moment, you have to keep working and concentrating on your job. I'm really pleased to be at Liverpool and I will try to stay for a long, long time."Benitez says he is confident because he can see Torres and Steven Gerrard improving with every game after their injuries."I think every week they don't have any problems, they get a little bit better," he said. "That's the positive for us. If we can keep these players fit, it will be totally different for us."

Haha what a prick. We are now 8 points ahead and City are 6 points ahead. They have Chelsea which is a must win game for them if they want the league so i don't see Liverpool winning that. We'll lose to UTD, beat Bolton and then the deciding game will be against City. No champ league for Liverpool will hurt them more than the likes of us, City and Villa 'cause our finances don't rely on qualifying every season :D

Liverpool FC have confirmed that striker Fernando Torres will undergo surgery on a knee injury later this evening. A club spokesman said: "Fernando saw a specialist in Spain earlier today and it was decided that he would need surgery on a torn cartilage in his right knee."This will be carried out later tonight. We cannot comment ahead of the operation, but as a guide, the usual rehabilitation period for this type of procedure is around six weeks."
Oh dear.
"I can guarantee we will finish in the top four."
Gets worse each time i hear it.

To be fair on them they only have 5 days to hype before we put em back on a downer so leave them be.
They have 4th pretty much wrapped up and I don't see them losing on Saturday.

Swear you guys are going to finish 7th this year? You have no money and you are more closer to the mid table clubs (Everton/Fulham) than the likes of Chelsea and Utd. Not sending, just stating facts.Unlucky
