Nah it was out of warranty when I sent it off to them. The initial problem was suppose to be covered by warranty (rubber grip melting), But when I spoke to them before the warranty ran out. They said it wasn't
Ephren Taylor
Been debating which camera to get for ages and just decided to get a Canon 60d. I'm going to Bali on Thursday, so perfect opportunity to grab some decent shots and vids.. Any settings you guys would recommend? I've only got the kit lens (18-55) at the moment.. Is it worth getting another one before I go?
Mr. Martinez
Mostly shoot on neutral. Keep your iso down, and find a good balance between that and your aperture. If you want to get a bit more involved look at downloading the technicolor cinestyle picture profile, and i think there's other neutral profiles you can download for your camera. http://www.technicolor.com/en/hi/theatrical/visual-post-production/digital-printer-lights/cinestyle if you want to get even more involved, look to install the magic lantern software on your 60d. It gives you access to a lot of useful features. including audio bars, w/b markers, etc
Ephren Taylor
Thanks a lot. Will check it out the cinestyle profile when I get a bit more practice. Im currently looking through loads of video tutorials on YouTube to get up to speed.
Afroman
Cinestyle is sick. I shot a wedding to dvd with that a few weeks back. Secent with magic lantern hack and all. I will recommend it if you are doing any post coloring and effects... I flogged my canon though. They just seems to be better optiobs for the video side if things.. For pictures you cant go wrong. Afroman
WHat you looking at for video Afroman? I have bren trying out the gh2 with hack and the video is broadcast sharp and clean its unreal. It held pretty well in post and next to the red in quality. I enjoyed the canon for its simplicity and community support but the aliasing and moire was becoming a bit of an issue For me. I am also holding back for a 4k cinemaslr on the £2k price mark. I just feel like there is one around the corner from these other competitors. Like this http://philipbloom.net/2012/04/16/blackmagic/ Its impressive than the 5d mk3 and cheaper.. Right now for the price and performance the gh2 wins in the dslr video end. I wasnt too sure about the 43 cams.. But those old school lenses mounted on them look vintage classic. Af101 is sick but most users have told me the gh2 produces the same result. Nah. Canon still cant deliver 60p at full HD. I would rather go for the mk2 and invest in some serious glass... I am doing a shoot with the gh2 next week. I will update when I am done. This was shot on the gh2 Last Music Vid I shot on the 600d
