prime lens recommendations?

canon 50mm f1.4 is a must nice shallow depth of field on the lens to blur our the background and bring your subject to focus..... also at night time aswel if your filming in an low light environment but has a lot of light in the background i.e. buildings street lamps ect because of the low aperture it brings out the light while filming and creates a good bokeh ( the blurry light balls in the background)

My partner has ordered this.

I wasn't best pleased, specs and workflow look amazing but still unsure.

Good investment.

Said before that this is the cam to get if you are spending the Mk3..

Specs wise its a no brainer...

I dont know canon are on but, they need to go back to the drawing boards with this DSLR film movement.

Other competitors are springing out of no where and they are delivering the Big bang for the buck.

Did a shoot with my gh2 on friday and I am very impressed with the results..

Copped a few old FD lenses that mounted well and was razor sharp.

Only thing I can say is for stills canon is definitely the winner.

@ Afroman, that looks very sharp & crispy. I can only imagine how sick it will be when you finish working on it.

@ Platinum50

The 50mm is must, you won't go wrong. It's very versatile & defo gives you more than price tag. I haven't fully forgiven the wife for breaking my first one.

Yep that looks like the next buy, value for the quality, safe.

Im gonna grab some old lenses on ebay as well, stylewise, I love the visuals some of them are able to capture

Are you getting the canon or gh2?..

if gh2.. Get some FD & OM lenses if you can. They are dirt cheap.. I bought a couple of them before my shoot last week.

fd 50mm 1.8

fd 50mm 1.4

fd 28mm 2.0

100mm 2.8

85mm 1.8

These lens cost nothing

Only disadvantage is its all manual but I usedthe fd 28mm & 50mm and it was soo clean.

I dont know how they compare on EOS cameras. I usually bought ef lens when I had one.
