A bit of good news.KYLE BARTLEY SIGNS NEW DEAL

Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that defender Kyle Bartley has signed a new contract with the Club. Bartley, 20, spent the 2010/11 campaign gaining first team experience with successful loan spells at Sheffield United and Rangers. During his time in Glasgow, the centre back made eight starts and cut his teeth in two Old Firm games. The former Reserve team captain and FA Youth Cup winner has made one competitive appearance for Arsène Wenger’s side, playing 90 minutes against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League in December 2009. Kyle also featured for the first team in Sunday’s Emirates Cup match with the New York Red Bulls. Everyone at the Club is looking forward to Kyle’s continued contribution and development with the Club. :D
Am glad we are keeping him.On the down side this is probably our defence sorted according to wenger.

i don't think Wenger thinks he is ready yet, if he did we would have seen Bartley more in pre-season, Bartley wants to be with the first-team squad and I think Wenger sees the four current CBs ahead of him and wants to add another one at least ahead of them four. So I doubt bar a injury crisis or failure to sign a centre-back that Wenger at this point can definitely say to him yeah your be with the first-team next season. Wenger needs to loan him before August IMO, cos another Championship loan ain't gonna do nothing for him but with the way we are dithering getting a centre-back, he'll probably end up there as Wenger will make him wait or leave us under covered as normal. The long contract, then loan thing is a ploy all clubs do, put him on a longer deal, send him out on loan, if he impresses Arsenal, he'll come back and be in the first-team and we will have the security of knowing he is tied down, should he get ideas. If he impresses the club/league he at, then Arsenal in a better position for his fee to do a permanent deal should they wanna do one with any club.

Rangers have clinched a deal to bring Kyle Bartley back to Ibrox - and he could face Chelsea on Saturday. The official site can reveal that Arsenal have agreed to let the young defender join Rangers on loan for the season and he will arrive at Murray Park tomorrow.Bartley, of course, had a loan spell with the Light Blues last season when he arrived in the January window and played an important role in the early months of the year,He scored a vital goal at New St Mirren Park when Rangers were struggling with injuries and he also played in the Europa League.Unfortunately he suffered a knee injury against PSV Eindhoven which put him out for the rest of the campaign. However, he fully recovered and took part in Arsenal's pre-season campaign.Ally McCoist made no secret that he was keen to land his man and now the 20-year-old centre back is returning to Ibrox. There is still some paperwork to tie up but all things being equal Bartley will be involved against Chelsea on Saturday.
Ally McCoist has expressed his pleasure at bringing Kyle Bartley back to Rangers to bolster the squad. The Rangers manager had been quite open about his desire to secure a deal for the 20-year-old centre back. And an agreement was reached with Arsenal tonight allowing Bartley to join Rangers on a season-long loan.McCoist said: "I'm pleased that we are getting Kyle back. He had good experience with us last season so he will find it easy to fit back in wiith the squad again."He is a good young player with a big future in the game so I'm delighted to get him back in."I have to thank Arsenal for letting us have him and I'm sure he will do very well."We kept in contact with them over the summer and I knew that they wanted to use Kyle in the Emirates Cup at the weekend,"However, we have managed to do a deal now and he will be a good addition to our squad."Bartley got 16 minutes in a 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls on Sunday and signed a new contract with the Gunners yesterday. He will arrive at Murray Park tomorrow.

Sky Sports sources understand that Arsenal have rejected Barcelona's latest bid for their captain Cesc Fabregas. The Catalan giants have already seen two bids rejected for Fabregas this summer, and now their latest offer has seemingly been shunned. It is believed Arsenal are standing firm on their £40million (€45million) valuation of Fabregas. The latest offer from the European champions is reported to have been €29million plus €6million in future add-ons, whilst Fabregas was also believed to be putting a €3million sum towards the move. But the overall package - worth €38million - is still some €7million short of what the Premier League club are demanding. On Thursday, Fabregas faced the Arsenal fans for the first time this summer as he participated in the club's Members Day.

As much as I rate Cesc he could have shown a bit more respect and come out with a few words instead of ignoring it all yet again. I know Wenger won't do this but take the armband off him, we can't have him as a captain anymore. One more week until the season starts and we are pretty much the same team plus 2 as last season, players who don't want to be here are still picking up hefty wages and can't get them elsewhere, over-rated shoddy counts still around, fresh faces are needed this can't be ignored for the next 3 weeks of the window.
