I was buzzing about the Koscielny signing first of all but now im just underwhelmed, granted i'v read good reports about the guy but he's a gamble, would rather of went for a premiership proven player. And once again its Ligue 1. Goalkeeper situation needs to be addressed quickly and not that old australian prick either, would feel so negative.f*ck it grab Joey Cole on a free, would rather he came to us than strengthen the Yids team.

Balotelli coy on Inter exitBy Simone Bargellini ~ Last updated: 29th June 2010http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 91,00.htmlInter Milan striker Mario Balotelli has admitted he is flattered by reported transfer interest from Arsenal. The highly-rated 19-year-old is said to be a target of Arsene Wenger's side as well as a number of other European clubs. Balotelli - who hit the headlines for his spats with former manager Jose Mourinho - insisted he was happy that Rafa Benitez had been installed as Inter manager following his departure from Liverpool. However, he couldn't hide his delight at being subject to speculation, with former Nerazzurri and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini also believed to be keen on his services. "I'm ready for Benitez and I'm happy that he has talked well of me," said the Italy Under-21 international. "But I'm happy also that Arsenal likes me. Staying at Inter? Now let's see. Roberto Mancini? He gave me my debut in Serie A." He laughed off suggestions of a city switch to rivals AC, adding: "Go to Milan? Of course not!"Balotelli's agent has played down suggestions of an impending deal, revealing that Benitez does not want to part company with the front man. Mino Raiola told Radio Radio tv: "I spoke with Inter, which has a project. I don't think Balotelli is on the market but I don't know if they want (him to) play."Not really much in it but still...

True but there a lot of bemused grumbles when Wenger signed the Verminator. At 5'11, he didn't seem the great hulking defender we were after but how wrong were we.Kinda wanna see if we have another Alex Song within our ranks, someone just not rated by the fans at all, that shows us something this season.

True, fingers crossed it turns out to be a similar situation. In Wenger we trust.

I'm confident in Koscielny from what I read he is one step away from the french team and hes supposed to be sicknow its just GK and a j cole ting realistically
Chesney is our long term no.1, hence Schwarzer coming in.Can't disagree with that play from Wenger really. Chesney looks a good prospect.
:D Schwarzer's 37? so in reality has about another two 'good' seasons left in him, And your saying after that you'd be happy for chesney to be our number one at the age of 22?

Szceszny will be ready in a year.He needs a year in the Championship, and then a year with us in the first-team with a solid back-up keeper, incase Szcesny incurs a dip in form.Ideally Fabainski would have held down the number 1 for a year, but if it goes wrong, Wenger would deserve sacking. So they should both go out on loan and return to be 1 and 2. Schwarzer, Almunia and Mannone should be this season's 1-3.

Arsenal are considering a move for £10 million-rated World Cup star Per Mertesacker as they extend their search for defensive reinforcements. The Gunners are already close to finalising an £8.5 million deal for Laurent Koscielny from French club Lorient. Gunning for glory: Mertesacker has been linked with a move to ArsenalBut boss Arsene Wenger needs to make at least two big-money signings, with both William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre departing. And if Sol Campbell joins Celtic it will leave Arsenal with just two senior central defenders, Thomas Vermaelen and Johan Djourou. Mertesacker, 25, has been on the Gunners' radar for some time with chief scout Steve Rowley regularly making personal checks on him in action for club side Werder Bremen. The giant defender's displays in helping Germany to the quarter-finals in South Africa have strengthened the view that he could do a job in the Premiership. Wenger has been linked with several defenders this summer and has increased his offer for Everton's Phil Jagielka to £10 million. But Goodison boss David Moyes is urging his board not to part with the 27-year-old and that has persuaded Wenger to consider Mertesacker.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1290831/Arsenal-eye-10m-Per-Mertesacker-David-Moyes-urges-Everton-sell-Phil-Jagielka.html#ixzz0sMb4nzgu
