i think english arrogance has a huge part to do with it; something that is being mirrored by at least 50% of my facebook

Not even about that we clearly had the best bid, we could do world cup tomorrow if needed.

Its too bait, u tellin me from our bid alone only 4 ppl liked it and 1 of those votes were from an english. So that's really 3

If we lost fair and square then yeah, but this is a joke

Lots of disrespectful tweets about Blatter. Do you guys not realise Fifa is honest and clean? Russia bid said so in presentation

Only Fifa could class Qatar as the biggest risk of all the bidders and then vote for it. Joke of an organisation

Whisper in the auditorium is England "punished" for nasty media. But it was never ours to lose (contrary to bookies' odds)

2 votes? Really?

Wow if that is true and 1 is English, so 1 other dude voted

Two votes for England. And then Geoff Thompson transferred his to Russia

1st round: England 2 votes, Netherlands/Belgium 4 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 9 votes

Qatar only one short of winning it in first round. Japan 2 votes, Korea Republic 5 votes, Qatar 10 votes and USA 5 votes 2nd round

First round: England 2, Holland/Belgium 4, Spain/Portugal 7, Russia 9

Second round: Holland/Belgium 2, Spain/Portugal 7, Russia 13

Russia win

First round: Australia 1, Japan 3, USA 3, Korea Republic 4, Qatar 11

Second round: Japan 2, Korea 5, USA 5, Qatar 10 votes

Third round: Korea 5, USA 6, Qatar 11

Fourth round: USA 8, Qatar 14

Qatar win

Notice Spain's never changed, just the same old votes from round 1.

not sure if someone has mentioned this already but voting pattern suggests England were deliberately ousted in first round

to clarify the point: two "Russia" voters chose NED/BEL in round one solely to knock England out first

Who should we blame?

BBC The main candidate so far is the BBC. A Panorama special looked into the allegations of corruption that have persistently dogged Fifa for the past two decades. Jack Warner, whose family firm allegedly earned £1m from reselling tickets at the 2006 World Cup, and whose votes England had to get to have even an outside chance of winning, was said to be especially displeased by the programme. Investigative journalism and FIFA do not sit well together.

Prince William

Could have invited all the Fifa delegates to his wedding. Didn't.

Mail on Sunday

In an undercover sting, the Mail on Sunday triggered the resignation of the England bid chief, David Triesman, after he was recorded claiming that other bids were corrupt. See above comment re: investigative journalists.
