The 8520 is a great phone and this offer on T mobile should be very good value

I contacted T Mobile before I pre ordering this phone to ask if I could use the 8520 with the Blackberry Messenger on Pay As You Go and their customer support said they dont support this phone on payg

Could Play, com or the supplier of this phone please try to clear up the confusion that surrounds the Blackberry phones on payg or guarantee the T Mobile sim card provided with this phone can be used to subscribe to the blackberry messenger service

Some review on that phone from play.com. The thing is, i'm on contract with T mobile so if i bought this separately then put my sim thats on contract with them, there might be a chance they will allow me. Need to speak to them though

safe, I called up t-mobile earlier today asking about this, tbh the woman wasn't too sure but she did say they used to offer similar PAYG services like O2 bolt on but they don't anymore, however this could change

Is the tour 2 going to be virtually the same as the bb bold 9700 or better.

Rumours say that is will have a faster processor, wifi, optical trackpad and a better camera over the original tour.

Doesn't that make this a new curve in relation to the new bold or are the 2 handsets going to be kind of the same.

Well from a bit of investigation the bold 9700 will have overall the better package.

Bold has slightly faster processor and performance form the look of it.

The tour 2 might have a better camera.

atm T-mobile is a no go.

Called up O2 today, and they was like nah we don't offer Blacberry PAYG services, then I mentioned about the simplicity sim (someone mentioned it in this thread) however they said it's like a contract and you have to pay £20 a month...I'm getting confused.

Someone with a PAYG Blackberry and also uses BBM speak up

Does Orange have 3G bcos i got my Bold yesterday and I havnt seen a 3G connection yet.....

f*ck Orange.

Orange claims to have the largest integrated 3g network in the uk.

If you aren't happy you have a cooling off period to give back the phone.

Isn't that the 30 day rolling contract ones? Those are good.

Why is the browser so slow if the connection isnt wifi?

Browser speed and page loading is network dependent when not doing it over a wifi network. Try using opera mini. I personally find it a lot better to user than the normal browser.

Are you on orange? I find that pages load quicker than my iphone (both on o2 network).

I copped the 9700 after doing a bit of reseach too.. Seems like the Tour will be better in Europe.

Are RIM really looking to release 16 different models throughout 2010??

Why do you reckon the tour will be better in Europe?

They look like exactly the same phone except bold will more like have slightly better performance and the new tour is likely to have better camera. Seems like a pointless release to me.

I am doing a test on the battery of the bold 9700.

Been over 24hours since last charge.

Will see if the battery last 48 hours with my usage!

Been over 24hours since last charge.

Will see if the battery last 48 hours with my usage!

I get 3 1/2 to 4 days usage on my 9700 with moderate to high usage.

An hour or thereabouts on the phone each day,

30/40 text messages sent and received per day (sometimes a fair bit more),

BBM usage,

Twitter and Facebook usage

As well the odd bit of browsing here and there and

A few e-mails sent each day and about 15 - 20 received each day.

Wifi's off. 3G is always on, providing I get a 3G connection.

Currently installed OS 5.0.0.423.

But what does piss me off is on the day it dies, it dies at crucial moments.

Like halfway through the day it'll drop to 8% battery life, beep and then come up with too low for radio usage or whatever, even though I start the day with 25% battery.

3 1/2 to 4 days?

Are you serious?

phone is nearly dead now at 36 hours for me.

I send about the same number of text messages per day, send about 70-100BBM messages per day, receive a few emails, use some facebook and do some browsing and have msn on for a few hours per day in the background (with about 1-1.5 hours of active use) and 2 hours per day on phone calls..... and the signal indicator light flashing every 5 seconds (just because it is cool).

One thing I am worried about is that I don't know whether I charged the battery properly initially. It was already pre-charged I guess since I put it in the phone and it turned on, charged it till it said 100% instead of doing some 24hour thing and then took it off charge and walked through the door.
