I wouldn't say he has hidden. He has been well protected by deep defensive lines and teams that sit back in a compact shape with little room for expression.

It's not a stick to beat him with, but it's unfair to criticise a player who was a sweeper keeper for a team whose fullbacks play where wingers should and whose two cbs who play far up the pitch.
