I remember when I 1st heard about Ronaldinho.

Was at training in 99 and we were talking about who's next on the World stage.

This guy said it's all about Ronaldinho, looked out for him and them days man had a high top.

Not many players fulfill their potential still.

Thank God he never came to Man Utd.

Ronaldinho has voiced his delight with Atletico Mineiro's hard-fought Copa Libertadores win over Olimpia and has hit back at his critics who claimed the forward was in decline.

Mineiro were beaten 2-0 in the first leg of the final in Paraguay but turned things around in the return as goals from Jo and Leonardo Silva levelled the tie before the Brazilians ultimately triumphed on penalties.

"This is the reason why I returned to Brazil. This is the one trophy that was still missing," Ronaldinho was quoted as saying by Reuters.

"Everyone said that I was finished and that my time was over. Let them talk now..."

Wednesday's victory saw Ronaldinho join an elite group consisting of Cafu, Roque Junior, Dida, Carlos Tevez, Walter Samuel and Pablo Sorin to have lifted both the Champions League and Copa Libertadores trophies.

The 33-year-old won European club football's elite competition with Barcelona in 2005-06.

One of the best ever but in all honesty, he should have gone as the undisputed GOAT.

Agree but arguable GOAT you mean.

Nah, I think 3-4 more years at his peak, it's pretty difficult to place Zidane, Pele & Maradona above him.

Pele was ripping up teams at 17 in the 58 world cup, 12 years later he was still the best player in the world in 1970.

Pele had talent and consistency.

The reason why i said he would be arguable GOAT is because he is so naturally talented, as talented as any of the greats, Maradona had less time on top than Pele as well but his genius in leading his team to the world cup finals on two occasions catapulted him to the top, if Ronaldinho had 3 or 4 more years at the top people will be seeing him like they see Messi now, an arguable GOAT, but ahead of Maradona and Pele undoubtedly like you suggest, no chance.

If Ronaldinho would have carried that consistency from the end of 2005/2006 into World Cup '06 + World Cup '10 & domestically/continentally, he would have eclipsed Maradona & Pele.

How could he eclipse them, when they actually done it?
