Heard a few bits from Wretches next album at work today, he's going about things the right way

what ways that then?

/

on a similar note i heard some unreleased Chipmunk a few months ago and was very impressed

like he was going a Meek Mill type way but without actually biting Meek's style

just the beat choice, subject matter and level of urgency in the track

main difference is Chip had a big buzz in the UK before he went US, SAS's presence is incomparable to Chip's - even before Chipmunk started doing pop music

personally, I'd never heard of SAS before they were signed to Roc (but tbh I wasn't following UK hiphop mixtapes or even pirate radio much them times)

Look the real is chip aint gonna buss in the states.  Even though i think he his putting out his best music yet.  When I compare to SAS. I meant he isn't gonna be that cross over rap artist that we thought was gonna do things state side.

I don't know where he fits in at the moment because those oopsi daisy records aint gathering interest from record labels over here at the mo.  And the songs his  making now aint really generating those numbers. So he is just stock in the middle

SAS did more in the states than nearly everybody, most popular Uk Rappers in the states till date, although they had the luck of being part of the biggest movement in rap at the time, for Chip to get similar success he would have to have been signed to a group like MMG and lose that accent a bit.

sbtv, spiff tv, grimedaily need to take a hard look at themselves and understand the power that they have.

Right now they are the consumers access to the uk rap scene, but they keep putting up these videos of these terrible rappers.

The f*cked thing is that these guys are representing the scene. It makes you think that anyone can get up on there right now and get that exposure.

This is why being an independent artist would be more beneficial

I dont know about labels not been here 20 years from now. They will always find a new approach.

I do agree with music of now is a  throw away. Life span of a record is soo short these days
