Anyone on here done anything to do with music technology courses?? Its what im looking into but the job prospects after dont look too good, ill have to search hard and i see some courses say they involve maths where others dont.....ive got good grades at maths but seriously i HATE maths lolbtw is it true you can take a gap year during your course? i heard someone say but i dont think its true can any one confirm.
Did Music Tech at Thames Valley University from 2005-2006. Hated the uni and the course. Wasn't for me, and most people I think it's only good if you are trying to build connections and meet other people in music. You're probably better off teaching yourself the stuff. However, if you are passionate about it, and want to go for it, go ahead, just know you will at some point have to pay for it. I was lucky as I started the year before top-up fees were introduced, so my borough paid all of my tuition fees for me.Having said all that, whilst I think I wasted a year, it was a year of enlightenment, and I met some cool people, some of whom I still talk to, and got me adjusted to the uni regime. And you can defer a year, and continue after, but a gap year is taken before you start your uni course.
Yeah i think it will be for me, nothing else in uni takes my fancy still. I want to go into something to do with the music industry whether it be studio work or setting up PA's for events and that.so you can only defer after leaving college then isit befor starting your course and not like half way through?safe
You can defer during your course. I know a girl that had a yout, so she is going to defer her third year for a year whilst she does her thing with her kid. But, I'm guessing not every year you can keep doing it. I'm not sure actaully. You should check UCAS or your uni.

i think i get what you're tryna say, at my uni we call it a placement year or an industrial placementwhere in your 3rd year you work in england, abroad or study abroad for a whole year. its really good cuz you get a whole years experience andlike over a third of people get offered a graduate job or get invited to the final stages of graduate job interviews which is helpful if u wanna do something really competitive like microsoft, investment banks etcright now i'm applying for jobs and it takes LONG. you have to do a different covering letter for each job, different online application form, tests etc

preston is dead reallybut the chicksand random jokes you have makes it worthwhileits what you make it reallyi got the chance to come up here before uni started and met a few people (my bredrins now)cos otherwise if it weren't for that i'll only know my flatmates and the people on my course + the random ethnics i would somehow be friends at first sight with in a club. (no homo)and that would be deadout.uni is over sick though.

leeds is the best place that ive been, the bars are good, loads of different types of clubs from cheesy cheap student nights to jsut really decent music orientated clubs. just happens im at uni there aswell, but newcastle is a really good night out aswell. its so damn cheap and got a good atmostphere.when to liverpool last year and wasnt overly impressed
