He has never been "unplayable" against experienced defenders. He has been good but he has never managed to be the best player on an important game, something that all the greats tend to manage regularly. Cant rememeber him being the most influential player on the pitch on a big game. It's not just about scoring goals in big games. Its about how he bosses the big games, his influence and impact on these games.
