Fabiano reveals Prem talksSevilla star considers Premier League switchBy Francisco Acedo Last updated: 24th January 2008Luis Fabiano has revealed that an English club, believed to be Manchester City, are close to agreeing a deal for his services. The Brazilian, 27, is currently the top-scorer in Spain with 13 goals but he could be ready to quit Sevilla.Eriksson has been hunting the world for a top striker, but deals for Diego Milito, Fred, Afonso Alves, Djibril Cisse and Lukas Podolski have failed to materialise. The Swede sent his scouts to track Fabiano and, having seen him in five matches over the past month, it now appears a deal is in the offing.Fabiano has confirmed to the Brazilian media that talks are at an 'advanced stage'.Talks"It would be very difficult to leave Seville," said Fabiano."But negotiations to go to England are at an advanced stage, and this is a great opportunity."I am very comfortable in Seville, it is a club and city I like a lot but with this great opportunity I will do what I feel is appropriate."Fabiano is under contract with Sevilla until 2011 and has a huge 60 million euro (£44million) buy-out clause. However, Fabiano's situation is complicated by the fact that Sevilla actually only own 35 per cent of the player. His representatives and an investment group hold the rest of the stake and reports suggest that a deal worth 14 million euros (£10million) would be enough to take 'The Magician' to England. The player added: "This is a very good offer and the investment group decided to negotiate."Spurs are also believed to be keeping close tabs on the situation with Juande Ramos a known admirer of his former charge and Tottenham could yet make a rival bid.Sevilla are yet to make a comment, but coach Manolo Jimenez, sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Monchi and president Jose Maria Del Nido are set for a meeting to discuss the situation.TrialMeanwhile, Eriksson is understood to have taken Italian Filippo Mancini on trial.Mancini is the son of Roberto and he plays for his father at Internazionale. He made his debut for Inter in the Coppa Italia earlier this month, but he is now believed to be trying his luck in England with City.http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3074746,00.html

he aint done it EVERY season cosistantlyi.e at Rennes & Porto
He was at Rennes in 2000 and at Porto in 04/05. We're in 2008.You think Sven cares about what he did then.He didn't tell his scouts to watch tapes of what he was doing at them clubs, he sent them to Sevilla matches. What about at Sau Paulo (160 apps, 118 goals) and more importantly NOW at Sevilla.Right NOW he's consistent.

Luis Fabiano says he does not want to leave Sevilla in January after Manchester City bid for the striker.City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is looking to add a new forward to his squad before the close of the transfer window.Reports suggest Fabiano is a leading target, with the Brazilian claiming the Premier League club have offered 12million euros (£9million).But while Fabiano has admitted to it being a 'great opportunity', he is reluctant to leave the Uefa Cup holders midway through the season. The situation, however, is complicated by the fact Sevilla only own 35 per cent of his transfer rights and he accepts that could lead to his departure.Talking"I have never said I wanted to leave," Fabiano told the club's official website. "I don't want to go in the middle of the season."It can't be ruled out because the group want to sell their part and has every right to do so."We are talking to see what we can do. I will try to do everything to stay at Sevilla."I am waiting to see what Sevilla are going to do to help me. The offer from Manchester City is 12million euros."I am well, I don't want to leave now. I am happy, I am playing and I would not want to go in the middle of the season."

Fabiano: I want to stay at Sevilla Luis Fabiano wants to remain at Sevilla for at least the rest of the season despite reports of a possible move to Manchester City. The striker - rated around 12million euros - was quoted as telling the Brazilian media earlier this week that negotiations with an English team were at an "advanced" stage and that it was a big opportunity for him. The in-form Brazil international confirmed on Thursday that several clubs were interested in him and claimed that Manchester City had made an offer, but he also insisted that he did not want to leave Sevilla at this stage of the campaign. "At no point have I said that I want to leave Sevilla. The possibility exists, but I would like to finish the season (here)," he said on Sevilla's official website. "There have been offers but I do not want to think about them at this time, I want to continue working. I am very happy and I do not want to leave Sevilla in the middle of the season." Spanish media have been reporting that Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton are among those interested in signing the striker, who is the joint-leading goalscorer in La Liga this season with 13. The situation is not clear-cut though, with 65% of Luis Fabiano's rights being held by an investment group and the Brazilian admitted that a move during the current transfer window was not out of the question. "We cannot discount anything because the group want to sell their stake and they have every right in the world to do it. We are talking to see what we can do. I will try to do everything I can to continue at Sevilla," explained the striker. "At no point have Sevilla said that they could equal the offer. Now I am hoping to see what Sevilla are going to do to help me. The offer is of 12million (euros) from Manchester City. "I am fine, I do not have any reason to leave now. I am playing and I do not want to go in the middle of the season. "At the end of the season I will have a year left on my contract and if the group do not sell now they will want to do it in the summer."
