The context in which Deep House is now used is for a genre that it doesn't belong to. Deep house is more soulful/jazzy. Look at the dances branding their nights as Deep House...Does it match up?
it definitely meant something different, only last say 3 yrs its evolved into this bass driven stuff
Â
i remember back in 2005/6 rhythm division had a section called deep/soulful house and i used to think it was proper boring, still dont like that soulful jazzy shit
I agree with both of u. Deep house now means the more techy stuff as opposed to its original meaning. I do like the techy stuff tho, as well as the soulful. On the whole though, most events I attend now don't play any soulful. Apart from dedicated events such as Soul Heaven or Groove Odyssey...which may I add that the last groove odyssey i went, Kerri chandler played Au Seve...
go to traxsource  and under deep house you will see the real house soundsÂ
Â
uk always f*cking up music genre namesÂ

i fucking just said deep soulful house was the original and now its evolved into the new 'deep house' - which has nothing to do with tech dunno why you mentioned that

I feel like "Deep House" is just being used as a term to cancel out all the proggy commercial house stuff.
Â
I hate having sub genres though, really causes confusion and leads to this bollocks.
