Another interesting sidenote from this whole saga,

The best Youth prospect since Scholes and available on the cheap, and nobody willing to take the punt, Newcastle dropped their interest last week apparently, till then there wasn't any other takers.

There's probably quite alott to this whole saga

RAGING.

What I don't get is. Why have we apparently accepted £300k from West Ham (rising to whatever), yet rejected £500k from Newcastle couple weeks back. Not sure if they came back with £1m after that.

Could be that the sums are wrong,

Or that Newcastle's interest was only a passing one,

Or maybe West Ham have allowed sone sort of buyback clause of some sort.

Goes Newcastle, plays with prem players and a decent sqaud there is more chance of him succeeding and making us look like the fools that we are. He goes London, cant focus on the football, proves the club right to move him on.

I think you're right with the buyback clause. Or should I say hope. :(

f*ck*ng PISSED OFF TBH

SAF told us in the summer Rav, Pogba and Clevs were the main reasons we weren't going to buy anyone, supposedly he didnt want to hamper th

eir progress into the first team by bring someone in

now what? whats the excuse now?

this season has been an absolute 'mare thus far.

cursed with injuries, knocked out of all meaningful cup competitions and having to recall Paul Scholes from retirement, it' doesnt get much worse :(

buy back clauses are absolute wank tbh, he could just reject us and go to the highest bidder

I'm pissed.

I'm unsure whether big Sam is the right man to get the best out of him. I'm happy for him in the sense that he will defo gt the chance to play prem ball nxt yr. but boy too many questions marks around his mental state and how much he will be supported as a slightly gassed kid from ends in new surroundings.

The thing that's really getting me. Even if Morrison asked for 30k a week. Which I'm about 90% sure he didnt.

The alternatives are Paul scholes who is on 75+, a new signing who will cost millions and 75+ in wages and then signing on fees. And then you have rav and pogba. Who just both need to be put into 1st team and combined wouldn't touch 70k in wages. And I really doubt both would flop. It's crazy stuff. Makes no sense

If you think that the emergence of those three was the reason we didn't strengthen then boy...

Despite the fact that we were in for Sneijder and Nasri till wages and a sneaky payment to Nasri's agent gazumped us,

I'd be shocked if there isn't a buy back clause,

Hoping the reports that Fergie isn't sure about Pogba are wrong also.

Either way it's pretty safe to say we'll be seeing 2 or 3 significant in comings in the summer.

Hope he does well there gets his head down and fullfill whatever potential he has

In fact I'd go as far as to say I'd rather not have Ashley young on 130k a week, if it meant securing a line of youngsters who could potentially be top top players.

@m12 - i've been SCREAMING the exact same thing ever since CR7 left, but instead we keep getting round pegs for square holes, having to play centre backs in midfield and wingers upfront? some joke

@kompressor - i didn't believe what SAF said about not buying because he has 'excellent kids'

i just dont get why he lies soo much, if the money isnt there at the moment let us know, then we'll jam till our situation changes - instead we keep getting pedalled with all this 'theres no value' 'we have brilliant kids coming through' bullshit and we have 2 of the 3 promising kids potentially leaving

i'd rather we didn't spend on players like Bebe, Diouf, Obertan, Owen and Gibson (wages) and instead just made do with what we have in reserve - imo we' wouldnt be that far off from where we are now

and just to cap this all off after the Barca game where we came up short AGAIN SAF said;

"That's always going to be the challenge [catching Barcelona]," Ferguson is quoted as saying in The Mirror. "We've introduced some young players to the club this season who have tremendous ability and a great energy and spirit about them.

"So I think we're making great strides towards that level Barcelona have reached these past two or three years.

"Sometimes these things go in cycles and at the moment Barcelona are in the middle of a fantastic cycle of having a tremendous squad of players. But that changes over time and at the moment English football is in a good cycle in terms of the four teams that are represented in Europe every year.

"In the last few years we've got to finals and semi-finals in Europe. So I think England and Spain are at the top at this moment in time, but Barca are obviously the target for everyone."

West Ham United are still hoping to sign Ravel Morrison but the move from Manchester United hinges on the agents involved in the transfer demanding a fee of around £1m, according to a source at Upton Park.

Reports suggest that the 18-year-old midfielder would cost West Ham an initial £650,000 with up to £2m of add-ons. It is thought there is no buy-back option for Manchester United.

His wages would start in the region of £10,000 to £15,000 a week, potentially rising to £65,000. The latter would be dependent in part on Morrison helping secure West Ham promotion this season. Then, after a certain number of Premier League starts, his salary would start to rise incrementally towards the £65,000 ceiling.

West Ham have agreed a fee to sign Ricardo Vaz Tê from Barnsley ahead of the transfer deadline closing on Tuesday.

Morrison was having a medical with West Ham, with their manager Sam Allardyce saying: "The deal is not quite done yet but we are hopeful it will be completed. Ravel is a talented lad and if he really wants to be a player then we will help him as much as we can along the way.

"Perhaps a change of environment will be beneficial to him and help him make that step up to first team football quicker than perhaps would have been the case at Manchester United. There is no doubt he has exceptional talent."
